You are with us or with them

Peace All

A fruit seller has five different varies of apples and six varietes of oranges … lots of people gather at his stall as he proudly chants “buy all your fruit from here, all the best varieties available”. People crowding around and one asks … “I want Golden Delicious and Easy Peelers” and another ask for something else and so on. People happy in their world of fruit.

But did you not notice that he does not sell other fruits? What do the people care they don’t know that any other kind of fruit exists.

Please discuss the sociological implication in being compelled to think in dichotomies. Such as the statement:

“You are either with us or with them.”

Is this an honest statement? If it is not then why do people feel compelled to stand by it? This topic can lead onto ethics and psychology but please focus on the social implications.

Why do we settle for Red or Blue party or Green party when there is a gold party waiting for the uptake?
