A student was kicked out of a Christian school in California because her parents are lesbians. While I understand private schools are private and thus can kick out who ever they want but I don’t understand the logic. How can you make a 14 year old responsible for the choices of her parents? And in this perticular case, doesn’t she need the best of guidance?
Re: You are responsible for your parents
"Choices" of parents?
the Christian schools usually have a set of criteria for enrollment like Child must be a Christian, some arent as strict and they ask for things like
Child must be, well a child
anyhow, in this particualr school they must have a rule that clearly states that Child must not have Lesbian parents.
I dont see the issue here
Re: You are responsible for your parents
yeah i read it in the news paper..i mean..i was like..
that’s juz crazy..it’s not her fault that her parents are lesbian..
Re: You are responsible for your parents
I think the bigger question is whether lesbians should be parents in the first place
Re: You are responsible for your parents
Who gets to decide who can be parents and who cannot Fayz? I don't mean parents by name.
Re: You are responsible for your parents
I reckon God blesses people with children!
Re: You are responsible for your parents
People who give birth have the right to be parents…
The guardians should not claim more than their share. :-p
Re: You are responsible for your parents
Fayz, somehow I don't believe your answer, it's very un-Fayzish. Giving birth does not automatically give you rights if you fail to fulfil them, as some parents do. What if some guardians do a better job than some parents?
Re: You are responsible for your parents
Apparently, guardians are the ones who are breaking the rules of procreation...People should play by the rules of nature. :-)

uffo.
Re: You are responsible for your parents
this in no way answers Miss_Mohabbat’s question to you.
Re: You are responsible for your parents
I remember in the Catholic boys school near us the Headmaster got divorced, and therefore had to resign from his position at the school. This is a difficult case, I'm presuming they'll take it to court.
Re: You are responsible for your parents
Mr. Dome, would you be so kind and remove the link you have provided via my name. Thank You.
Fayz has dodged my question, he is being careful perhaps?
Re: You are responsible for your parents
Missy, how are they doing a better job? The way I see it they are pushing a bit too much to be accommodated.
If they have made certain choices in life (good for them), they should stick to them and at least have the guts to live by them. Sending the kid to a ‘chrisitan’ school is obviously going to raise unnecessary psychological issues for the kid and his classmates.
They didn’t live by the laws of nature, adopted a kid or whatever..they should at least be courteous enough to live by the rulings of Christian teachings. That’s the least they could do. so much for the better job :-p
Re: You are responsible for your parents
I think the first answer by lazy daizy was the best and the closest explanation. Catholic schools generally have stringent requirements for admission and continued attendance at the school. For example, if one of their requirements is that the student must be from a Catholic backround. Lets suppose one or both parents then convert to atheism, it is possible that the kid will be kicked out. How is that fair to a child who is still devoutly Catholic is, obviously a difficult question, best left for Administrators of such Catholic schools to answer.

Re: You are responsible for your parents
Hain??? What catholic schools you guys been to?? I was catholic school educated for 12 years, and I never came across bullshiit like this. nobody ever insulted my beliefs or belittled them, or my background or anything...
Re: You are responsible for your parents
Christians have a saying, hate the sin not the sinner, clearly they aren't following this advice.
Re: You are responsible for your parents
That's so wrong. I don't think the school being a private christian school has anything to do with it. Maybe they're just biased.
Re: You are responsible for your parents
They should have let that child stick in school and teach her more about religion and religious values. She probably won't get those values from having lesbian parents.
