People lie regardless of swearing on the Bible etc. We need a more robust system to actually determine if they’re speaking the truth. But the court system is heavily biased it depends on which lawyer can convey the message across the jury better. If a person commits the crime then that person should be charged and given the punishment.
But we’re far behind in technology at this point to conclusively figure out if someone is lying or not. There are still loopholes in everything about the law system that we depend on. People find ways to dodge so many things. It also helps if you’re rich. If you are then you’re mostly like to go away without any punishment.
the secular judicial system is funny. most of the lawyers defend their clients despite knowing that their client has lied to them. actually they ask their clients let us know even if you will be lieng in court, we will be defendin you accordingly. so half of the secular judicial system is based on lies.
i don’t think so but you can refuse to put your hand on Bible. you take oath in other ways as well, like just saying “i will tell the truth and nothing but truth”…you don’t have to say, “so, help me God!”.
Everything is also based on evidence. A person can be lying and everyone there know it, but if there’s no proof to prove otherwise.. well then he gets little to no sentencing.
It’s a horrible system.
