its too early to say if yonis is a good captain or not.. 1 test should not be the yard stick to judge players.. remember inzi's first test as captain? he failed miserably vs newzealand with both bat and in the field.. team lost with a huge margin ended up drawing the test series

Guys I think you did not read the post.
Yonis should not be in team so how can he be captian.

If you guys only need an energetic person then we can play someone who only has energy and no cricketing background.
Its not a matter of ist match or 100th match its about the future of Pak team as we all know Inzi is going to retire in 2-3 years and if its the time to groom someone who can take his position.
I doubt in 2-3 years yonis will be in team or not. As we all watched in odi's even he scored run a ball but he was unable to produce hits even the team was not underpressure.
This guy can score 30-40 but is not a match winner.

You’r saying that Inzimams replacement for a future Cap10 has to be some one who can still carry on playing/Leading the side for 2-3 years down the road?

Lets say inzimam is still the cap10 for 1 more year, Younis takes over the cap10-C and carries it for another 2 years.

Thats total 3 years of Mr. Younis playing & leading the side !!!
And you don’t see the last part happening. Right ?

I agree with you Sir. , Yes it will be a waste of time,but changing it would create ‘groups’ in the team 100% sure i am.

However I see Yonis K.. and Inzimam as only band-aid adhoc fix not a long term strategic solution. :D,apart from this Pakistan don’t have any otehr option left,

Bhaijan, what do you want? You want younis out of the side. I admit that he is not as gifted as inzi ot youhana but atleast he is triyng to compensate for that deficiency. I think you have a short term memory problem otherwise you would have remembered his performance in India. But then again you are a typical paki fan who wants everyone to perform in each and every inning of their career so you can praise them otherwise you want to hang them after one failure. Yar I am sick and tired of people like you. You want players to be consistent in their performances. First go and try to be learn consistency in your life and in your posts.

When YK was made VC, he had the worst performance anyone would want from a VC, dropped catches like he never caught a ball before, played irresponsibly as a batsman and what not, I remember how strongly I criticised him but he came back strongly in next match. He won't be captain in next game so he won't be able to make up for the loss, but it'll be a good lesson for him... also as people already mentioned he was playing without luxury of Inzamam, Youhanna and Malik... he played with one DEBUTANT in Bazid Khan, Yasir Hameed who comes on pitch on and off and people expect him to score big everytime he is on pitch regardless of last time he played.

Anyway, cool down, Younis will still be captain after Inzi and he will perform better in coming matches and you will forget this performance.

Disagree with you Captain1 Bhai,

Younis Khan is still in an experimental period (Not saying he is not good enough) I still believe Yoyo or Malik would be a better option.

Welcome back Aejaz, I thought you left for good.

I don’t know why most of the people at Gupshup want Younis as captian. Inzi is the best choice and he should lead the team in the next WC. About Younis energy it is good but that can’t match the WC experience Inzi brings to the table. If Inzi wants to lead as a captain he should be allowed to.

Ok boss I dont know how much consistent are you in your life and dont think how can you predict consistancy in anyones life. But one thing I am sure of is you have some relation to Yonis probably he is a Khan as you. If you are tired of such people then dont read or post anything here becos this is not a personal attack forum. I would suggest that you should go to some doctor and get rid of your sickness.

I also dont have a short term memory guyssss. I know he played well in India but one good performance doest make an average player a star.

CAN ANYONE REMIND ME AN INNINGS BY YONIS IN LAST 8 YEARS THAT HELPED PAKISTAN TO WIN A ODI OR A TEST? (leaving out the Indian tour win)

It is hard to start liking a player you dont want to but there you go, you wanted stats. That is not even a researched result. Now go search on cricinfo. Learn to give credit to a hard-working cricketer

Thanks Saby bhai. Let me add some more here for the 8 year old cali boy. He stressed on last 8 years so i am assuming his age is 8, because younis made his debut in 2000 which was 5 years ago (in case you can’t subtract). I will try to be as simple as possible so his tiny brain can accomodate everything

Youins khan made his debut in 2000 in a test match which Pakistan lost to srilanka in Pakistan. When a side loses a match that usually means they didn’t play very well. You want to know how well younis performed in that match. He made a century on debut.
In 36 test matches younis has scored 2616 at an average of 43.6 which is usually suppose to be a healthy average in cricket (I don’t remember what is suppose to be a good average when you play with a tennis ball in your garage or in your baramda, please tell me probably your average will be higher than younis)
Saby bhai has provided you information on some of the innings which he has played since the time you were born. For more check out www.cricinfo.com. Ask an elder to let you go there. Its not an adult site.
And finally dopehead, a player is selected in a team primarily because of his recent performance. So if he is in the squad right now its because that he played outstanding knocks in India. It doesn’t really matter what he did when you were born. And yes one good knock can’t make you a star but it ensures that you play the next match.
