Re: Yoga
omg, i LOVE it. more than anything it truly releases all your stress.
i use shipa shetty’s videos
it starts basic and gets funner, and it isn’t annoying to repeat the same thing.
Re: Yoga
I have been doing yoga for 8 years now… and i love it!
I go to classes every other day, but there are so many at home videos out there that are good. It’s really good to just release tension, elongate the limbs, improve posture, and just becoming more supple…
oh yeah, and don’t forget that mind, body and soul crappola ![]()
Re: Yoga
I love yoga...especially the Stress-relief yoga. I used to do it during my lunch hour with a couple of friends, and it did wonders.
Re: Yoga
Shay: yoga really helps, mentally and physically. Its soothing and relaxing and helps stretch your muscles. Pick up some videos by Rodney Yee, Natasha Rizopoulos or Sean Corn. Your local library should have some you check out for free, to start with. If this is new for you, I would suggest a class in Hatha Yoga. It's for beginners and starts with the basic postures. Also, I would suggest picking up a copy of Yoga Journal magazine, there are tons of videos, articles of use, they always have something about basic postures. Yoga really is great!
Re: Yoga
Yoga is awesome and really helps...I just feel its too slow for me at times?
Re: Yoga
One of my friends recently joined a yoga class with her husband and they both love it. They feel they have way more energy now and their bodies feel better. I took a yoga class a few years ago...I didnt really find it did anything to me. But everytime the teacher would say things like clear you mind etc, Id just be thinking about all the tests and assignments I have waiting for me, so maybe I didnt have the right frame of mind for it! Maybe I will try it again when Im pregnant

Re: Yoga
I like the Shilpa Shetty videos...checked them out...they're not bad.
Re: Yoga
I was just about to start a thread on yoga. My first yoga class was 3 days ago. It was called Power Yoga Hour. My body has been in pain for the last 2.5 days. Whoever said yoga was easy has probably never tried it. After ten minutes of that class I wanted to run out crying.

they were doing things i couldnt even imagine. a woman right next to me, with such toned legs (ugh) was doing everything like it was child’s play while i was almost in tears. ive gotta say though, i didnt give up and stayed there the whole hour. the last 5 min were just lying on the mat (which was the best part) did i mention, i almost cried?
im going to go try out pilates either tomorrow or the day after but i think that will be even bad. the reason i had such awful aches everywhere, even now is because i havent gone to the gym in years, dont work out and just that day stretched out almost every muscle in my body for a straight hour. not recommended. but i hope and believe that it will get easier everytime i go.
Re: Yoga
Aw sumorani...I feel ya! I started working out a month ago after a really long time as well. Like you said, my body was sore for 3 days. I rested and then went back. Yoga is difficult in the beginning but seriously just keep at it and it will get easier and more fun by the day.
I'm doing Wii Fit and Yoga on it and it's good so far. I think I would eventually like to get some advanced DVDs or attend a class in the future.
