Re: YK in ODI’s
Even YK doesnt play with a great SR …Its simple neither Younis nor Misbah should be in ODI Team

Re: YK in ODI’s
Not everyone can or needs to score at a SR of 90+ let alone 100+ in ODIs. Viv, Gilchrist, Sehwag and Jayasuriya are exceptions to the rule. We also need good innings stabilizers esp. during the crucial middle period when spinners are usu. on but we can only afford to play two such players in any given team i.e. 2 from Misbah, YK, Malik and Asad. on present form it should be Misbah and YK/Asad.
But for that all important partnership of 90 odd between Misbah and Umar Akmal in the 3rd ODI against Bangladesh, we would have lost that game for sure..
Since Hafeez is doing well with both bat and ball and we have two other good spinners (Ajmal and Afridi), Malik is not really needed in ODIs at the moment
Misbah averages 42.67 at a decent SR of 75.29 (Inzi’s SR was 74.24 and he was a very good ODI player!!)

so not sure why in your opinion Misbah does not belong in ODIs..
Re: YK in ODI’s
Some very good ODI batsmen have SRs of 70-75.

Re: YK in ODI’s
What separates vast majority of the players on that list (with 70’s SR) from YK is that they were (at least 95% of names in that list)not Minnow bashers and did not have the short comings that YK has had in ODI’s for almost majority of his career.
I have already explained those in the very first post and I am yet to see anyone challenge my observations on YK in regards with those short-comings I mentioned in first post.
Re: YK in ODI's
The biggest problem both Misbah and YK have is, they are not very good at rotating the strike or milking singles and twos
Zaheer, Miandad (low SR is due to the fact he often batted in a crisis!!), Inzi and Yousuf were much better ODI players for sure
Re: YK in ODI's

Here is my take on it
His reputation of a player who has god given talent of picking the gaps, rotating the strikes (and thus he should be a star in batting line up) was (in my opinion very wrongly) associated with him in first 4 years of his career where he used to bat at 5 or 6 and when he came on there would be around 4-5 people in the circle and he would be able to get the ball in out field and scores 1's and doubles, so according to cricket pundits in Pak..this was good enough to label him as guy who is good at picking singles etc etc,
As soon as he moved to 3, and the push to off side that used to go between Cover and long off and yield him one or two or the flick that went through un-patrolled midwicket in 35th over and got him 2 runs or a dab at point (which didnt exist in 40th over) and YK got a single, were constantly going straight to fielders and YK (who is un-capable of doing anything else) kept failing to do what he was labelled as expert (i.e, a player who can rotate strike).
Re: YK in ODI's

He certainly has limitations but if you follow a typical inning of Younis esp if there is a usual 'crash' in our batting line up then he will be in 'blocking' mode SR dropping to 30-40, if no more wickets fall then he ends up with a decent strike rate of 70-80.
