Yet Another Investigation

**Interesting!!!

I wonder why no one from the PAK team or even Gen Tauqir is not asking ICC about the 2 doubtfull out of Jaysurya and De Silva but instead letting them blame it on PAK that they might have fixed it or something.

Personally I think it could be one of the following.

ICC did not wanted the host team to lose the opening match as you can tell by the decision of the umpire. I watched that particular nick over and over and even Ramez Raja pointed out that if there had not any nick Jaysurya would have not looked back the keeper to see if he got caought. But unfortunately for some reason the umpire never asked for the 3rd umpire decision where as he (umpire) was so keen to get the 3rd umpire decision when he gave Malik LBW. And same aplies to De Silva when he got trapped for LBW.

It could have been a fix due to the bookie mafia might have threatened the life and safety of the palyers and their families as bdsurti mentioned above.

What ever the reason was either it was a fix or SL kick PAK A$$ I don’t really care (u win some u lose some), what I am interested in is if somecone could launch an investigation on the decison of Jaysurya nick. I would really love to see the out come. Personally I think it was a clear nick. If I were in Waqar’s or Gen Tauqir’s place I would have questioned ICC decison on that. Thats something I think our players and the PCB management is scared of asking ICC. I am sure if Imran had been around there would have been atleast few questions raised about that decision.

Nothing incriminating will come out of the video tape of the match against Sri Lanka, says Pakistan captain Waqar Younis. REUTERS http://www.iccchampionstrophy.com/

Pakistan ‘in the clear’

Pakistan have been cleared of any wrongdoing during their Champions Trophy defeat by Sri Lanka in Colombo, according to reports.
The International Cricket Council’s Anti-Corruption Unit asked to see video tapes of the game as part of its ongoing crusade to prevent corruption in the game.

Sri Lanka won the match by eight wickets, and reports claimed the dismissal of Pakistan batsman Yousuf Youhana, in particular, was being scrutinised.

Youhana was run out for nought without facing a ball.

But the Agence France Presse quotes an ICC source as saying: “The matter is over and Pakistan does not have to worry about anything.”

The Champions Trophy is being used as a trial run by the ICC security team ahead of next year’s World Cup in South Africa.

They have confirmed that “detailed monitoring” of every game in the 12-nation tournament is being carried out.

Lord Condon, head of the ACU, said earlier this week: “No one should be surprised at this approach and the unit will be looking at other incidents in other matches during the course of the remaining 10 games of the tournament.”

“The ACU is confident that this regime is providing an effective and professional deterrent that will protect both the integrity of the tournament and the privacy of the players.”

The ACU was formed two years ago after the match-fixing scandal which led to life bans on three Test captains - the late Hansie Cronje of South Africa, Mohammad Azharuddin of India and Salim Malik of Pakistan

An apology from ICC should be forthcoming for the clumsy way they handled this whole affair .

good newz :k:

This action of ACU is extremly stupid. What’s the point in investigating during a tournament and making players feel awkward? Why can’t they wait till the tournament is over? One of these days ICC would destroy the game with its very hands. :stupid:
