I am excited about the new developments and the focus on further building on the legacy that has been established by past efforts. I still recall the day when on irc chat Azkar told me of his plan of this site. It was Spring of 1996.
Since then through the selfless efforts of many people, we went from an idea to a real site, from just okay to good to even better, and now we want to build upon all the efforts that have made the site more than what is was a few years ago and make it great.
The goal is simple, have the experience of you, our users, be enhanced. A place to have fun, make friends, learn, share and use this platform collectively to try and do even more someday.

You will see revolutionary changes geared to unify the site and better equip the system to handle an expected increase (potential doubling) of posting traffic.

Gs and Gsup are merging back to become one big team as it should be. I have been given the responsibility to run GS as the new Director. It's a tall order and really big shoes to fill. Ehsan bhai set the amazing standards of running this site with incredible smoothness and great leadership and people's skill. On the other hand, Samad as director of GSup gave us the flavor of what new web tools and innovations can do to this website and how they can enhance the flow of positive communication between the members. Positive communication is the real soul of this website.
When you log on to GS in next day or so, you will notice some changes.
The obvious change is in the management structure of the moderators. As we grow, it has become difficult for a single director to pay full attention to the various sections of this rather busy website. In order to help the Director manage day to day operations, a second tier line of management has been established. These people will be called Channel Managers. Each channel manager will be solely responsible for this section and lead the moderators within that section, or channel as we will call it. As a member, you can always PM your mods to help you around, but the channel managers and I are also only PM away.
Looking forward to have some great times and funfilled GSing.

First of all my best wishes for the new structure of GS. I must admit, being relatively new and not "so active" member I don't know many of yours. However few of you I know, I personally think you have collected a very competitive team for managing this site.
I wanted to put this thread in Feedback, but since the sticky message is in this forum and no feedback from ordinary users is allowed on the message, I decided for this place.
The thing which made me post this message came from Muzna's post.

I hope this is not the sole purpose of this re-arrangement. I hope the focus and strategic goal is the promotion of our culture and everything Pakistani.
And at the same time cutting the flow of all the negative energy flowing through political forums such as "Pakistan Affairs" etc.
Once more I wish you all a great great success.
To recap some of the changes:
Ehsan Bhai has been promoted to a more strategic and involved position as the VP of Paklinks Services Development..
TLK is the new Director of GS.
A team of Channel Managers will help TLK in running the various sections.
The double mod team structure has been reduced to a single function.
All support and feedback will be handled via the new HelpCenter system.
A new forum Ask Gupshup will be launched under Unplugged. This will be fashioned after Yahoo Answers where the original posted will be able to select the best answer.
GS will be shortly integrated into a much larger website, PakLinks Portal which will serve as a vast reposiroty of all things Pakistan.
Video introduction to various aspects and features of GS will be launched shortly. New members will have a short intro and FAQ as to how to survive on this planet sized website.
Navigation and layout are being optimized for a more user friendly experience.
We have the team in place. Expect to see much more creativity and service matrices in the coming few months.

If anyone had told me that joining an online forum could be so entertaining and so mind- boggling I would have laughed at them. If anyone had told me I would make so many new friends I would have been sceptical. My idea would have been that it was a place for those with nothing better to do.
Yet I was persuaded to join and, yes, Gupshup did bring me those benefits and I am very glad I joined the GS.
All of us have seen the movie where the detective jumps in a cab and says Follow that car. Same happened in my case , when I joined GupShup, however, the chase is not done yet , am still following a dream .
I am highly obliged to every one , who has been a part of my on-going affair with Gupshup
So folks lift your glasses in a seasonal toast , To the Place called Gupshup that we love the most.

Congratulations to TLK and new comers who are/will be joing the team and thanks to them who stepped down, however they already made this place as it looks now! sure you will always be remembered, no doubt legends never die!
