Not that I do not look handsome and dashing in those eye glasses I wear but I was denied some good rishtas by some wealthy parents of some pretty girls and deprived of my last chance to become wealthy. Whats up with desi mentality where ainak makes you dumb and ugly.
People will fall in gutters and out of the window but will not wear prescription eye glasses. They will fail and stay behind studies because they cannot see blackboard but they refuse to get an eye exam.
Kids who wear prescription eye glasses are made fun of and are called chashmato , chashmulli , char ankhain and what not. Desies and their preconceived notions.
You would say that now a days there is an alternative , Lasik and contact lenses , hello , everybody cannot afford those .
