ICC Test ranking: Yasir breaks into top ten | The News Tribe

Just after playing 9 games, he Mashallah broke into top-10 and at this moment he is the only player who is keeping me interested in Pakistani cricket. Wishing him all the best!

PS: actually there are few other players too who I am looking forward to perform including Sarfaraz, Azhar, Junaid, Asad Shafiq and (possibly) Amir.

If I am not on wrong after Asif he is the only player who is top 10 after 9 test matches

lets just hope he doesnt follow in Asif's footsteps in other respects.

Good for Yasir

After 9 tests, Qadir had less than half of Yasir's wickets. However the game has drastically changed since the 70s and 80s with few boring draws (largely owing to mandatory 90 overs per day rule) and batsmen likely to take more risks when going for runs.

Pakistan do not play many tests per year but if Yasir can maintain his form and fitness over the next 7 or 8 years he could become the first Pak spinner to take 300 plus test wickets.

And lets not forget that Yasir has pretty much played all his games in the subcontinent. Will be interesting to see how he does in places like England, Aus and RSA

Its a very good achievement. And if you notice he has taken more wickets against eastern teams who play spinners well.

However, he has to show consistency which we have seen missing from many new players lately whether batsmen or bowlers. Look at what Junaid has become or wut happened to Sami
