yasir hameed has sound technique among all openers i.e taufeeq umar, imran farhat, mohammmad hafeez, and salman butt. He is more matured , bold ,among all these openers. Also he has more varied selection of shots.
As compared to imran nazir and mohammmed hafiz he fulfilled the criteria for selection to the world cup on the basis of merit having highest ODI average of 40 among all above mentioned players…the question arisis why he is not selected for world cup squad.. it is strange that inzimam being batsman can not judge who is better in technique amonge all these…
i have came to conclusion that inzimam personaly do not like yasir hameed. The same happened to salman butt, second best opener…
When imran khan asked selector ahtishamudin in talkshow on ptv about ignoring of yasir hammeed, the selector replied that some matters can not be revealed on public…???

Hameed's treatment has been an absolute joke.
Inzamam may have had something to do with it and, if it is true, it is sad to see him stoop so low.
I believe team selection should be just that. Players picked by selectors on their form and record. Inzamam should have absolutely zilch say on the matter as he is not very good tactically.

yasir has done alot better than other openers, this proves it

In the past two years he has played in just four ODIs out of 45, and yet in those games he has run up scores of 41, 57, 71, and 41. Admittedly they have come a touch slowly by one-day standards, but Hameed is by nature an opener, and that department has been Pakistan’s Achilles Heel since the retirement of Saeed Anwar. Also woolmer has something to do with it, Yasir once said woolmer only concentrates on his favourite players! Yasir has always been treated shabily since woolmer era, i remember he scored a crucial well on aussie tour he was dropped for indian test matches but given a chance in last test, he scored 80 in 2nd innings of that banglore match, and was not selected for the odi! just a number of occaisions where he has been treated shabbily!

Once again PCB and Inzi will have no option but to feature three patriotic pathans in Younis, Afrid and Gul to lead pakistan depleted squad.

hameed has an average of high 30's in odis but hafeez and nazir are selected over him,Amazing!

That is a wrong conclusion. Do you know Inzamam once said about Hafeez that he can NEVER come back to national squad after perhaps first or 2nd time dropped but you can see that he has made it back within Inzamam's tenure as captain!. So before 'accusing' or 'concluding' you should look at all evidences and facts.

Does it tell that Inzi allow players based on merit? I dont think so, they only brought him back after repeated failure of their favorite players. In case of Yasir we saw him coming back to team at numerous occassion and every time they give him a chance he performed against some good teams, Australia, India and SA, but like every honest pathan he always say the truth, so Inzi and Bob may have ganged up against him and Bari supported him in the cause to fulfill his criteria of QOUTA system in the selection process, which otherwise will bring in too many Pathans (NWFP) players and wouldnt allow representation of other major ethnicities in the country.
Personally, I think this is the major reason that Bari is keep going back after Sami and Kaneria, to give representation to Karachi at all costs. And keep blocking players like Yasir Arafat, Azhar Mehmood, Samiullah Niazi, Mansoor Amjed etc.
