Re: Yasir and Salman’s wickets?
Okay, I’ll have to hear them now… cuz its confusing to refer cover/extra region as “sweeper”.. IMO.

Re: Yasir and Salman’s wickets?
^ I am not sure if their “Deep Midwicket” is correct. Plus, all the “square short leg, short leg and forward short leg” are mumbo-jumbo. Plus, I think “Deep Square leg” is generally much finer.
Re: Yasir and Salman's wickets?
I agree about that mumbo-jumbo. I think "deep" only means deeper (close to boundary), if Square Leg is fine than so is Deep Square Leg.
Re: Yasir and Salman's wickets?
I suppose it is how you look at it. All of them seem reasonably ok to me. Each captain can refine these positions a bit to his liking. Just like faisal is not sure about the deep mid wicket, I think the silly mid on and silly mid off point should be a liitle closer to the batsmen than it is on this image. After all it is not called silly for nothing.
Re: Yasir and Salman's wickets?
Each position definitely can be moved within a short circle and still be called what it is on this map.... but Faisal said the deep square leg be much finer that would place it in "Leg Gully" and "Fine Leg" region.... No?
Re: Yasir and Salman's wickets?
What is so surprising about that 'sweeper' position? I think I have been hearing this word since last decade; its not a new position. Faisal got that right.
Re: Yasir and Salman's wickets?
Ok, here is what I created. And this one I feel is more accurate. No captain/fielder is under compulsion to only stick to pre-defined positions. So they can move around in any open space. These are primarily for commentators and spectators to identify field positions.
