This hanging seems to be dividing India. I think some Indian Muslims are feeling alienated? Why is this so? No one has been punished for the Mumbai riots which preceded these bombings which is only adding fuel to fire. What do the Indian guppies here think of this issue? Is this selective justice being done by Indian superior courts?

Indian court is generally not selective, it has hanged hindus as well in past like rapist Dhananjay Chatterjee in my living memory.
Personally, I am in favour of capital punishment.

Didn’t know who this was. Thought this was about the Nov 26 Mumbai attack.
It is very divisive to make such statememt. The politician - whoever he is- should be punished for such inflammatory statements.

Didn't know much abt the 93 Dalal st bombing. It seems to be retaliation for the riots following Babri Masjid riots in which several muslim were killed (per one article I read). Not sure if any rioters responsible for those killings or for Gujarat massacre have been hanged. Only 3 people have been put to death in last 15 years. So the answer is obvious.
250 people were killed in the 93 bomb blast. Memom was found guilty of aiding and abetting. I dont know if he received fair trial. But if he did, death penalty probably warranted (though I am against capital punishment ).
In that context, since attack was against Bombay stock exchange, viewing those who attended his funeral.and mourned his loss with suspicion is not unreasonable.
Though I do question the motives of the saffron clad holy men.
