I was finally able to find a way to access my Yahoo mail from an external source. Its been a long time coming and I’ve been looking for it. Its hidden but atleast it now exist. Here are the steps to enable it either forwarding or POP3 access:
- In Yahoo, click on Options (top right) and Mail options

- Choose Accounts in the left, navigation bar and click on “Add or Edit an Account”. Its going to open another window/tab and it would be the old version Yahoo interface

- Click on Account Information; Its going to ask for your password again, put that in and click on Sign In
- In the next screen scroll down to the section for Account Settings and click on Set Language, site and time zone

- Change the “New Setting” field to Yahoo Asia

- Click finish, click on I Accept in the next screen and you’re done. It will ask for your password again, but you don’t have to put it in. Close out the window
- Go back to the original Yahoo window, which should be in the Options screen. Refresh the browser and go back to the Options/Mail Options screen
- As you may notice it would say Yahoo Asia! Mail on the top left corner

- Click on POP & Forwarding in the left navigation bar and now it would actually give you options now. Choose Setup or Edit POP & Forwarding

- Choose POP or the Forwarding option. I chose Forwarding. Enter the email address that you want the emails sent to

- When you click on Save, its going to send an email to the email address you specified with a confirmation code. Put that code in the field that it provides and you’re all set
For POP3
- Choose the Web or POP option
- Either select Spam Guarded option or receive ALL email option

- Click on the Save button. Your settings are now saved
- if you click on the View POP Settings link it will give you all the settings you need to configure your email client to access the mail in Yahoo. Here they are:
Incoming Mail Server (POP3): “pop.mail.yahoo.com” Use SSL, port: 995
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): smtp.mail.yahoo.com Use SSL, port: 465, use authentication
Account Name/Username: [email protected]
Email address: [email protected] (youraddress=whatever your yahoo address is)
Password: Your Yahoo! Mail password

Now you should be able to get Yahoo! email outside of Yahoo ![]()
