Though music is a personal choice..
but groups who r singing these days in Pakistan cant be classified as Pakistani singers.. most of the mentioned in this posts are western copy cats.. have u ever heard their interviews ..they seem to be not able to speak urdu correctly.. most of their albums or solos are copied as well as their music..how many eastern surs or musical instruments they r using? So I wouid never admire or respect these singers who belong to Pakistan but predict as they r living in west..
whenever we choose to borrow cultural things from west it means either our culture is not good enough.. so I would rather listen to Indian old songs of Rafi,Lata etc..at least they r eastern and close tor roots and heart..
But there r some good singers like Shazia Manzoor, Masood and Shelo Khan, Atta Ullah, who r Pakistani singers popular and nice to hear...

Sehar! i think i know why some of our paki ppl dont appreciate and listen to paki music, even the bands. baat yeh hay kay our people are westrenized! they're kind of so called "imporessed" by this westren culture and their music. issi liye, many of our teens dont listen to urdu songs. although i think that bands like vital signs and junoon kicks back street boys', Nsync, ricky martin,and britny spears's asses!! and this is true... i listen to BSBs and Nsync lekin i value our paki music more. but yehi baat hay kay our people dont listen to their own music cuz they dont appreciate their own language or music.. just like u, i dont get some stuff about our paki people either...lekin ab hum kya kar saktay hain.
