It is social conditioning, and entirely psychological. Nothing to do with one gender having more or less strength.
Girls are raised to think it's ok to cry in public. Guys are raised to think it's not ok.
If you took a baby boy, and raised him in an isolated, controlled environment where his role models were emotionally liberal rather than emotionally restrained, you'd end up with a man who cried at any opportunity.
Have you ever heard of Gazza? He cries at everything, infact, I think his tears during the semi finals in 1990 were enough for every English man in that stadium...for the next 20 years!
I know lasses who do not cry, it is not a gender issue at all. Somebody mentioned social conditioning, I somewhat agree with that, although a number of other factors contibute as to why some PEOPLE do not cry. I can't be bothered to type them out.

NOOOOOOOO!
it is HORMONAL!!!!
oestrogen (one female hormone) increases the production of tears...and the hormonal cycle in women brain induces mood shifts who makes women more prone to some kinda "sad or instable mood" and then tears than men!
well social conditioning DO play a role too...but it's not the major factor...
halloooooooooo ,we do cry we are also human only we try not to cry infront of girls :rotato: other ways we would have 1 more thing in commen with gals and that is not something to be proud of:hoonh: .
I feel like crying right NOW after reading some of these responses. I agree with Sara, real men don't cry other than for the reasons specified. The last time I cried was when I had a very vivid dream that my dad was dead and I dreamt the whole funeral and everything and it was breaking my heart, I woke up with tears, but then realized it was a dream and quickly wiped em off and washed my face before my wife realized what was going on.
My dad is very emotionally expressive. He gets teary eyed. But I think in general emotion especially the act of crying is considered a weakness. And men don't want to be weak.
what i thinkis that has Allah has given them more strenght thn women.Man rarely inspired as compared to Womens...Womens are more emotional and sensitive as well....they damn care abt is it reality or just a Drama? i hav find my self that women watching Dramas or while reading som fiction or Novels ..on sad scences ..they started weeping ......rarely man weep ...........Man hav the power to absorb and tolerate more as compared to Women
