ok so lets hear it from you guys… why do you guys workout?.. why do you keep pushing yourself hard every single day… is it becuz u wanna look attractive to the opposite gender…is it because u feel alive when u pump iron in urself?.. what is your motivation..
as of me…its is a way of life to me..gym is like second home to me…if im not at home..im most likely at gym… gaining knowledge by my seniors..sharing knowledge to those who come to me.. its like an addiction to me… i feel dead when i dont hit gym atleast 3/4 times a week… and trust me… building muscles is one of the TOUGHEST tasks one can attempt in their lives.. its purely a man thing to do ..to go to gym even when u dont want to… lift as if u’re never gonna lift ever again… every single day u aim for lifting more… each and every single day..u think about what body parts will u hit the most … its totally cool…
PS: i just loved whoever made this new section of health & fitness. I feel everyone should come here…share with all of us their knowledge about bodybuilding or just ask questions if they have any… its a great section to be part of.. Thanks to whoever created this section.
I think it really comes down to you feeling good about yourself. When you're healthy and workout it brings so many positives in terms of how you look and how you feel. Atleast that how it makes me feel.
when I don't feel like working out on the treadmill, I turn to dance which i've always loved and it's lots of fun.
For me, it’s not about gaining weight or losing weight. It’s about wanting to be healthy, and physically fit from the inside out.
Working out gives me the energy I need to get through the day and it makes me feel more confident in myself.
FF…I agree…I also feel dead and sluggish when I dont workout. You said working out is like an addiction to you?..working out gives me this natural high (it’s the drug) and not working out is like having the withdrawl symptoms
cheers indopak and angeleyes....workingout indeed brings a lot of confidence!!! and not to mention..the clothes that u wear fit so nice...especially when ure wearing tshirt..and the bicep is popping out..lol..lovely feeling..:biggthumb
Basically what is already mentioned. The motivation is not to look good for anyone. If I am not on someone else's plate, going to the gym is not going to change a thing. If I am already a part of the plate, the gym factor will be irrelevant, regardless of how my outer body and appearance is. It is about loving yourself in a different kind of a way.
I used to do martial art when I was younger and then stopped due to lack of time, due to studies and then pressure of work. A few years ago I started to have more time and started doing martial art again. In particular I do grappling which does work your body very hard and also is good cardio. I soon realised that I needed to do more, so I started also going to gym, and jogging.

Did you use to do pure grappling techniques by holding and squeezing your opponents or did you learn any mat wrestling alongwith it too? And how much of it do you still know?
How many years/months did you spend doing martial arts before you realized and started going to the gym? Did you feel like you could do more cardio by keeping up your heart rate in your target zone (since you already came from a tougher environment)?
My martial art involves throwing opponents onto the ground, strangling them, applying joint locks, and pinning them down. I know pretty much all, but I did take a long break but after restarting it again it all comes back to you very quickly. I started going to gym after about 9 months or restarting martial art.
hmmm well for me it is bout losing weight like i would burn 1000 cals but it motiviates me to eat in small portions , but it gives me engery n helps me lose the pounds
Mostly and mainly just to stay fit, and keep from feeling sluggish. With that come esteem advantages, which is an awesome reward in itself besides the physique.
