hmm...how is it there t2?

Actually they stopped making the magazine. But it was a real good thing to read if you want to understand a big problem in pakistan now: the disillusionment of the pakistani elite.

after some of my exams are over, i'll type up a few excerpts from articles

Very right gudia. For the elites of Pakistan disillusionment is unlimited.
I think its the very same magazine that sometime back ran a story on strip poker being played in posh areas of Karachi. That issue of the magazine was everywhere in the office of the firm where I working as an intern. People drooling over just the very idea of stip poker. But I wonder how true are these stories. They spice it up a lot of course to have it sell more.

yep thats the one - i have that issue.

Well, its not indian trash. I mean the general idea of the magazine was very creative, but in their last few issues they resorted to some stupid stuff - i guess they ran out of ideas. But they had this section - khattey angoor or something like that - really funny.

yeah, ur right, you never know how true the stories are. however, I have to say, that those things i've mentioned - are quite the reality there now.

T2 and piyaricgudia.... you both arent pakistani , than how can u have an inshight in PAK' s underworld.

Drugs were always around in Pakistan, though mostly in the very poor or very rich families. In the 80s they were popular among the middle class masses due to the huge influx from Afghanistan. PTV made the most dramas about the drug evil in the mid-late 80s.

As far as extra or pre-marital sex is concerned, its always there too but not in the open. This trait is also widely in the too poor or too rich of the society and something that is growing like never before. As most of my teenage years were in Chaklala (near Islamabad/Rawalpindi) the stories were very common. But lets not go there ...

There should definitely be awareness to the problems that come with such cultural change. But glamorizing them under the cover of 'awareness' is bizarre.

you shouldnt just declare someone non-pakistani because he/she is talking about some truth --- a bitter truth. Even if they are not pakistani, which i believe is not true, you should have a heart to listen and counter arguments through arguments, and not by declaring someone perpetrator. Unfortunately this is the same how Mullah (i hate to use this word though) usually declare someone non-muslim.

o Gudia, plz! stop stereotyping punjabis...we do have certain other important things at national level to take care of before we spend our energy in these regional issues.

the mess of the regional issues in pakistan is precisely what is stopping pakiland from moving FORWARD nationally.

now the discussion is moving toward a better end hah!!

and abt the sex.. yes as stated by Gudia.. its a bitter reality. and its true..

the reason is , distance between the Muslim and the teachings of Holy Prophet (SAW) and the divine BOOK ( AL-QURAN)...
