What do you all do on Xmas Day?
Since we all have that day off anyway, what’s the plan?
Also, if you don’t get or take a day off on Xmas, its fine. No worries.

Re: Xmas
I am fortunate enough that every employer I worked for had a full winter shutdown from Christmas to new year, so we try to turn the holiday break into some kind of vacation. This year we are planing to visit my brother in Texas
Re: Xmas
For Eid Milad ul Maseeh we enjoy all the sales.
Typically I take off the last week of dec and first week of Jan, so go on a trip.

Is Dallas on the agenda!?!?!?
Re: Xmas
I know what you’re doing on Christmas Day ![]()
Re: Xmas
My Caucasian Mami used to have a big family Christmas party for us every year...tree/presents and all, but failing health and other financial set backs with her and Mamoo have put an end to that in recent years so now on Christmas Day if there is no vacation trip planned, I usually end up inviting someone over. This year I have a cousin getting married out of state on christmas day so the whole family is going there (I'm not).
Re: Xmas

it may end up being in the agenda. Currently Austin , Houston and San Antonio are on :D
Re: Xmas
we usually have guests over the Christmas break or we visit a close relative in Canada or the US. This year, I and Mrs are going to Richmond, Virginia, iA.
Re: Xmas
That means Dallas is on…I shall call the Mrs and coordinate ![]()
Re: Xmas
:D
Re: Xmas
Meet up with my siblings and their families and have a lovely roast dinner, turkey with all the trimmings, why not! Its the oly time we can get halal turkey. The next day I head out to grab some bargains in the boxing day sales.
Re: Xmas
We always do a nice dinner and get everyone together. One year we cooked 3 days worth of food (it was snowing bad that year) and had a 3 day slumber party with the kids and all of us sisters since we were all off of work. No one left the house or did anything aside from watching movies and eating. LOL.
Re: Xmas
We do a party with friends on the 24th (Christmas Eve) and with family on Christmas. I'm hosting the 24th one at my place.
My mom is having a party on the 25th. I am responsible for dessert. Ammi specifically asked me to bake a cheesecake. I want to make a few other things. It will probably be spent chatting around, and watching 90s movies :)
I already bought Christmas presents, we just have to go and get a tree and start decorating.
Re: Xmas
For winter break, I'm planning to visit northern areas of Pakistan InshaAllah
Re: Xmas
We used to have the full turkey dinner with all the fixings and gifts etc…but the current population of kiddies is much smaller than the previous and, like khattichic’s maami, the caucasian members of the family have aged…so the tree, decor and gifts are limited to homes with non-Islamic-school-going-children only. ![]()
Last year we had a get-together with friends and did roast beef instead of turkey for the dinner.
Then we slept over at sister’s place so the kids could wake up and open gifts together.
This year I’m not sure yet…will make some plans this week if I can focus on something other than work.
Every year the guys stay up most of the night on the 25th skimming through flyers and locating all the boxing day “deals”.
I guess the guys are bigger shoppers in our family than the women.
Re: Xmas
I got to live out all my christmas party fantasies this weekend! One of my good friend’s husband asked me to put together I surprise birthday party for her and since she and I LOVE the holiday season, of course doing a holiday themed party for her December birthday was a no brainer!!! I had Mariah Cary’s holiday songs going and everything lol! The hot chocolate bar was the best part ![]()
