Anyone know which modchip is good to buy for xbox? Possibly for 1.3 or maybe one that works on all?

how much you want to pay?

asically all chips do is load a customised bios through LPC bus. My fav being the DuoX2. More expensive ones do the same thing have fancy lights, or with X3 an interface for attaching a small LCD.

Basically I want the chip to do its work nothing fency or anything. Is DuoX2 reliable?

I've been using DuoX2 for ages never failed on a customers machine. Only had one batch with some bad chips. If your in the UK I can probabaly send you one for less than shops or install.

I can do an xbox mod without any chip. Why not go for that?

Softmods are all well but you cant use xbox live withought removing it and then modding it again.

I am not sure which one I have.. When I open it up it says evo somthing.. works great, currently have 39 games in the hdd.

have a look on www.xbox-scene.com

A softmod is using an explot in certain games to flash a modified bios into the TSOP chip. Be warned though if it doesnt go to plan you have a dead xbox.
