With the launch of Kinect, is this the end of the road for Nintendo Wii?
With Kinect, there’s no remotes that you need to hold for gameplay…which means no remote related injuries!!!
Whatcha think? Will you be buying the Kinect device for your Xbox?

Re: Xbox Kinect
i dont think so,these add-ons never work, the controls and motion detection sensitivity would never match that of purpose specific wii.
Re: Xbox Kinect
Kinect can never replace Wii remotes cause Wii remotes have buttons also, so yes we can play Sports and fighting games but something as involved as Lego StarWars cannot be controlled just by body actions.
Re: Xbox Kinect
Yeah, what TLK said. Wii remotes are more practical. Kinect is another development towards the future of gaming, but we’re not there yet. I might get Move for my PS3 though. It is kind of neat, but the games are too childish. As soon as the first Move controlled FP shooter is out, Imma get it.
Re: Xbox Kinect
I don’t think it will have any significant impact on the Wii’s market share. I’ve seen it in action once. I don’t see it adding much value to my gaming. As of now, the highest chance I see of getting one is when they release the XNA version that lets you develop for it.
Re: Xbox Kinect
latest npd sales xbox 360 sold 1.37million just for november.xbox 360 is quite regularly beating wii since launch of xbox 360 slim
.
Re: Xbox Kinect
it appeals more to the casuals rather than the hardcore… its like justin timberlake being featured on fiddy cent’s songs :/… sounds alright but…
Re: Xbox Kinect
+1
Wii remotes are definitely more practical, and I don’t see any FPS or other hardcore games coming with Kinect compatibility anytime soon. Right now Kinect’s not really worth the price tag.
Re: Xbox Kinect
So Move>Kinect. ![]()
I think i’ll stick with Wii for now!
Re: Xbox Kinect
Good analogy ![]()
Re: Xbox Kinect
move has better precision then kinect.infact better then wii.cant wait to try killzone 3 with move

Re: Xbox Kinect
Haha, did they give you a copy of the picture, or is it already making it’s way around the net? ![]()
Re: Xbox Kinect

Re: Xbox Kinect
So you’re a celeb in your own right ![]()
Re: Xbox Kinect
i guess so.never going to play kinect at public places ![]()
Re: Xbox Kinect
Eventually the Kinect will get it right, at the moment it’s a bit meh.
The set up needs to be smoother. It did not pick me up at first, cue ‘hilarious’ scenes of moving around the room, waving at it. ‘I’m here!’
Kinect Adventures gets boring really quickly. By the time you get done loading up Kinect Sports, you’re too darn tired to play it.
The sneaky camera is fun, though I could have lived very well without knowing what my ‘punching volleyball face’ looks like. Oh well.
The no remote thing means the television is still intact (past mishap with Wii remote during a bout of golf), so that’s good.
It’s fun for the young 'uns, and as a family activity (my family adore it).
If they ever do a ‘Knightmare’ (old children’s show) type of game, it just may get my attention again
Re: Xbox Kinect
sings Evacuaaaate the dance floooor :o
Re: Xbox Kinect
^ Haha, those adverts!!! ![]()
el topo, that’s hilarious
but yeah i think i may purchase it once they’ve tweaked the motion recognition.
