Re: X-Men: The Last Stand

it was great!

Re: X-Men 3 - The Last Stand (merged)

I have to say that I was pleasently surprised by this movie. For an action movie, it wasn't bad!

It starts off with Scott Summers leaving the mansion in search of Jean. He goes to the lake and prays to allah miaN to return him his Jean. Well folks, 'lo and behold, there is Jean coming out of water. Scott and Jean make out. What poor Scott doesn't know is that Jean has become an mutant Succubus capable of sucking mutants to death. There is no body left of Scott but Xavier chacha knows sumfin' is up.

Wolverine and Storm go the lake to find gravity reversed in the area -- rocks are floating in the air. There they find Scott (Cyclops) $250 sunglasses swirling in the air. They find Jean and bring her back to the mansion.

....I can't type anymore and this is becoming kinda boring.

Anyhoot...

  • Jean also kills Proferssor Xavier, his body just disintegrates.

  • In a bid to save an anti-dote-mutant mutant, Wolverine and Beast ( played by Dr Frasier Krane), give Magneto the 'cure' thus making him a normal folk. :D

  • Despite her power, Jean/Phoenix is stabbed by Wolverine in the tummy. She join Scott Summers and Prof Xavier in allah miaN's heaven.

At the end of the movie, life goes back to normal.

  • Beast (Dr. Frasier Krane) is appointed the US's ambassador to the UN.

  • School reopens.

After the credits roll up, Prof Charles Xavier returns in a body of a comatose patient cared for by his good friend who happens to be a total hottie! Upon regaining consciousness, Xavier exclamates, "I got a woody!"

Re: X-Men 3 - The Last Stand (merged)

All in all, 3 deaths( Scott Summers aka cyclops; Jean Grey aka Jean/Phoenix; Dr. Charles Xavier), 2 conversions from mutant to non-mutant/normal folk (Mystique and Magneto become 'cured').

PS: there is a great catfight between Storm and a young black chick -- she hands storm her ass.

Re: X-Men 3 - The Last Stand (merged)

The scenes dat were shown @ the bridge and when phoenix was killin every one around were simply :k:
n da dialoguez b/w Logan n Beast were :cb:

Re: X-Men 3 - The Last Stand (merged) Spoiler alert

I for one didnt like it that much.

1 - Because the length was too short
2 - The climax of the battle looked very cheesy
3 - Major characters get killed without much emotional sendoff

If the length was 30 minutes longer. 15 minutes to add more emotional send off and 15 minutes for better fight sequences, this movie would have rocked.

Because the set used in the ending of the movie, looked exactly like the opening sequence of the movie. So they basically used the same set. The reason was even though they spend a lot of money making the movie, the cost of actor/actress salaries is very high which means production suffers.

Overall, X-Men 3, was a little disappointing for the above mentioned reasons.

Re: X-Men 3 - The Last Stand (merged) Spoiler alert

The final battle where Wolverine asked them to 'hold the line' was indeed cheesy. Heck, the whole idea mutant defending buggers hell bent on 'curing' them was cheesy. The final plunge by Wolverine in Jean's tummy was NOT cheesy. I was shocked!

You mean like a Bollywood song and dance? The lack of 'emotional sendoff' is what made those untimely departures very dramatic.

Stop watching those bolly flicks!

Re: X-Men 3 - The Last Stand (merged) Spoiler alert

agreed LI..a good summer action movie..and yeah real deaths are usually quick and sudden..rarely so bolly dramatic.. hence the stronger emotional wallop.
The movie did have some flaws but this was a well made comic book movies..kudos to the new director and the cast...its wrapped up many characters in the show once and for all and I kind of understand why the director said it'd be very difficult to make another movie (of quality) because there is nothing else to say ..Scott/cyclops like in part 2 had a very minor role..I guess thats because he is in SR..

Re: X-Men 3 - The Last Stand (merged)

2 is right, but it’s not magneto, it’s rogue. Magneto is injected with the cure but he isnt cured. You should have sat till the end where they show him moving the metallic chess piece without touching.

Re: X-Men 3 - The Last Stand (merged)

Mystique was cured as well. She was shot in the trailer.

Did you stick around for the extra scene after the credits?

Re: X-Men 3 - The Last Stand (merged) Spoiler alert

^

Dude, I know mystique was cured, that's why I said 2 is right. Just had to correct the magneto part. And no, I didnt stick around. Apparenly Xavier's mind lives on in the coma patient.

Re: X-Men 3 - The Last Stand (merged)

Bitiya,

this is the conclusive movie of the X-Men series. Magneto/Eric Lensher is not regaining his powers and that was WHOLE point of showing him struggling with the chess pieces.

Re: X-Men 3 - The Last Stand (merged) Spoiler alert

They are going to do spin-off movies. And given the success of these, they will probably do more of these after a few years.

LI: No, it shows that he has regained his powers and there is still potential in him. Clearly the cure is not permanent (at least not for everyone) as they thought it was.

Re: X-Men 3 - The Last Stand (merged) Spoiler alert

^

Nope.

Re: X-Men 3 - The Last Stand (merged) Spoiler alert

^What?

Re: X-Men 3 - The Last Stand (merged)

It shows that the cure was being reversed, or at least he had not been cured completely . If Magneto had become a normal person, he would not have been able to move the metal chess piece the way he did.

Re: X-Men 3 - The Last Stand (merged) Spoiler alert

^Exactly.

I’ve seen it twice so I’m the expert and LI is wrong :snooty:

Re: X-Men 3 - The Last Stand (merged) Spoiler alert

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I need more than your word: I need scientific proof that demonstrates his recovery.
