X-Men 2

I thought she was coming back as a villain?

Rebecca Romijn-Stamos was more impressive in this movie than the first simply because she actually had lines!

To tell you the truth, I was too mesmerized by Wolverine and his funky hairdo … mmmmmm …

Yaar, Pakistani Tiger your reasons for disliking X2 are fine but it's because you're not familiar with the comic and cartoon.

Jean doesn't die at the end but rather morphs into the Phoenix. I said it earlier.

Finale took place underground in dam because that's where the audmentium alloy was engineered in Wolverine's body in the cartoons.

Kelly Hu (the skin tight black leathered girl) is called Yukoru who, just like Wolverine has metal running through her body and in the orignal comic and cartoon Wolverine and she has quite a history and used to love each other.

Shani, question:

I am not familiar with the comic/cartoon series of X-Men. I was a little unclear about Wolverine's history in the movie. At certain times in the first and second movies, it seems like Wolverine was an experiment and Striker had made him into a mutant by injecting all that metal inside him. Was this just my interpretation of it? Or, was Wolverine always a mutant since he was born? How can he and Striker have been friends in the past if he was a mutant? Why would Wolverine volunteer for Striker's experiments if he was a mutant??

A little confusing...... :)

ok here is what you need to understand. Wolverine was a born mutant (sometimes in the early 1900's) but his metal claws comming out of his hands isn't his mutation. His mutation is his healing abilities. His healing abilities can't let him die (he can die a natural death but his aging process is very slow) You must've seen him getting shot in the head but his mutation saves him in X2. Sometime after fighting WWII with Captain America Wolverine meets Stryker through him and volunteers for this horrific procedures. Wolverine can survive this procedure because of his mutant ability, he's fast healer that's the offer stryker gives him and in return woverine would get a metal that's virtually indistructable. It's never mentioned in the comic and cartoon that why he did that (voluntered). After the procedure he lost his memory.

Along with wolverine, Sabertooth was another guine pig in the stryker lab. But he was a human and wasn't a born mutant. Wolverine's love interest Yukoru's metal claws are also because of stryker. Before the expirament these three and another one (Silver fox, I believe) were friends and soldier and were called Team Fox. After the experiment they became enemies. The biggest enemosity is between Wolverine and Sabertooth (once they were best friends).

I hope you got all that.

Spock, Jean is alive. But now she isn't good anymore. She's the dark Pheonix. And she will be returning as such in X3 (or whatever it's called)I don't why Bryan Singer took a 180 turn and made her phoenix on earth when every X-Men fan knows it happend when they were returning from space after their confrontation with Megneto and She'ar empror (read D.A.Zulfi's response on the first page).

Yeah great storyline, but the audience will genrally lose interest if their is a part 3.

If the movie makers go by the storyline of the comic series than it might be worth watching.

I remember everyone were excited to see Resident Evil and Final Fantasy, because they knew the story very well because of the video games but it turned out to be completely different.

Thanks Shani! :)

Another set of silly questions for the people ignorent on X-Men (i.e. me!): Who is Captain America? Who is Sabertooth? Was Sabertooth in the first one .... as the big, tall, hairy guy?

Personally, I will be thrilled when Part 3 comes out. I saw an interview with Hugh Jackman (mmmm) and he said that they are definitely making part 3!

I used to watch X Men cartoons in my young days and I remember guys like Apoclypse, he was the real bad guy, why hasn't he stareed in the movie.

that'd be sweet.

folks u can check out marvel comics website and get history on various characters, hstory of diff groups. i.e. x-factor after xavier is on a brak and magneto runs x-men :D oops did i spoil it for anyone?

while I am at it...you guys know that hobgoblin will appear as a villain in spiderman now that greengoblin is gone..

anyways..read up :D

Mehnaz

captain Americva is not in x-men. he is part of the avengers, along with ironman, thor, hawkeye, the vision etc etc. a diff team.

In marvel universe characters have run ins with one another, i.e. spiderman has fought and helped x-men at times. same for various avengers members and even fantastic four.

really hafta jog my memory, been years since i read the comics.

What I know about X-Men that it has got three sequels just like Matrix. In the first sequel, X-Men was off the hook and I understand every bit part of it as it seemed to me couldn’t be much better. The second part, I don’t like it. I’ve put up just 14 reasons after watching X-Men United just only once. You’ve explained 3 of them.

Look mate, it doesn’t matter to me whether I’m aware of comics or not. When script is fine, scene of the movie flows, anyone can understands the movie who wants to.

Let me know when you figured out where Mutants are living… :hehe:

Saw it yesterday. It was a blast, real good entertainment :k:

Actually X-Men was never meant to be trilogy only a one time movie but since it made so much money, they are making numerous sequals, something which will only hurt the original X-Men story.

some good points  i agree
but i hve to admit i still enjoyed it on a whole, im still wondering the blue thing was it beast?? his accent was far from it but then he was blue :konfused:

The blue X-man was called Nightcrawler I think. The one with the German accent.

The Xmen story has been very interesting to me for a while. Wolverine is prolly my favourite character. One thing I should point out is that, Wolverine also has heightened senses and animal agility and speed as well as fast healing, as does Sabretooth. The thing is that wolverine got the claws and the admantium armor and then destroyed the lab, and that got sabretooth real angry. That's why they are fighting. The evil girl, it was her daddy that was doing those experiments on mutants that created Wolverine. When he left, she felt abandoned and decided to get claws herself. And I have yet to see the movie :)!

RT wolf, you know the original story in the comics :) movie was a little bit different.

anyways, did you know sabretooth is actually wolverine's father? ..
