I miss the days of the old WWF from the 80’s (Yes, I know it’s fake) . The characters were awesome, the excitement was there. They had great interviews, great “sideshows” like Piper’s Pit with Roddy Piper, and The Body Shop with “Jesse Ventura”. The magic of the WWF or WWE now is long gone. Back then, they had the Wrestlemania event every year, now there’s a Pay Per View event almost every month with stupid storylines. There are/were some cool recent entertaining wrestlers like “The Rock”. But to me the appeal is all gone. I was watching the 10 year anniversary of RAW recently, and besides “The Rock” and Vince Mcmahon, it was boring as hell. I miss the days of Andre the Giant, The Ultimate Warrior, Ravishing Rick Rude, The Superfly, Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff, and the many other classic wrestlers. What do you wrestling fans out there think?
The Game Responds:
*Hell, as long as the king of the freakin' world Chris Jericho is wrestling, I will keep watching. You should do the same if you are looking for entertainment. People, That Is All.*
Yeah i agree Fret, it's just not what it used to be.
nowadays the storylines are too over the top, wrestlers are always fired (in the storyline) and returning the week later.
characters are chanigng from heel to face on an almost weekly basis.
can it be said WWE are just trying too hard nowadays?

Exactly, or they are running out of ideas. Come to think of it, it seems that they have been running out of ideas for almost a decade.

*You know what's really lacking in WWE these days? Those amusing cartoonish characters we used to love! I mean come on, don't tell me that you didn't love Doink the Clown. Really. People, That Is All.*

oh yeah, Doink was great:D
I suppose.
The WWF cartoon back in the 80's was great also.
…
One of my favorites was the Ultimate Warrior. I loved the way he would barge into the ring with that awesome music goin on in the background, kick the crap out of his opponent in mere 5 seconds, and then barge out of the ring again
If I’m not mistaken, there were a few of them. The original was died I believe.

no doubt this guy is great:k:…
I agree, I was a huge wrestling fanatic in the early 90s, those were my early teenage years, and wrestling was my favorite thing to watch. Some of my most favorite wrestlers from that era were Bret Hart, Diesel, Undertaker, Ultimate Warrior.
Now days Wrestling has become low class, just plain drama and very little wrestling.
This thread is making me emotional :(
how i miss the good days of wrestling :(
The best match of Ultimate Warrior was with Hulk Hogan in Wrestle Mania 6 or 7 I believe when he pinned Hogan. That was probably the best fight of WWE/F history.
The most memorable match for me was between Bret Hart and Diesel in a PPV match, though now I realize that it was all scripted but what a great match that was
Agreed
Wrestling used to be amazing back in the day.
I think from Wrestlemania 1 through 10 it was at it's best. The hype just can't be matched anymore you know. I think it is just to complicated to follow now days. Or maybe it is just cause we are not kids anymore

No, I think it's the lack of ideas now. The storylines are horrible. Like someone stated earlier, too much drama, not enough wrestling. It was the opposite back in the day.

and ofcourse, the man who is turning out to be the superstar of the 2000's:

Oh man.. WWF was the best in the olden days. Wrestlers actually did care about working in the company, not only for the money but mainly for the SPORT.
Now.. well now it's just trash. All its about is sex, trash talking for over half the show, and lame story lines.
I remember watching every Wrestlemania (mainly because I have the video collections) but still, I remember all the memorable matches and funny moments.
Royal Rumbles were actually tough to predict too. Anyone remember when Shawn Michaels did the one leg after Buldog was celebrating he came back and won?
I loved watching the Wrestlemania where Andre the Giant faced against Hogan. Or Wrestlemania VIII where Macho Man came back from a long absence and won. Wrestlemania IX, where Yokozuna was actually lifted and thrown down. Undertaker was actually cool back in those days too.. but the best there is the best there was the best there ever will be will be everyones favorite Forever!
I still remember when he gave my friend his glasses at a local show in 1995. Oh well at least I got to slap his hand. :p
Umair, yeah man I remember that Survivor Series (96?) where Diesal jacknifed Bret 3 times afterwards Bret won. That was priceless too.
Also, but no offense to Vince but he was a great commentator. He should have stayed one.
I remember the Andre vs Hogan match. Those were the days :k:
