Sting, Bret Heart, Goldburg, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Scott Steiner, Stonecold, Ken Shamrock
(I heard Sting and Steiner r in TNA but not sure.)
You bet. :)
I am sure, and as you might know or come to know about, Sting was featured very heavily during one of the past episodes of TNA Impact! He drew in prominent ratings, ranging the best TNA has ever done so far, which was recorded at 1.3 in the Saturday Night's slot (which was, essentially, Sting's goodbye speech). Millions of hardcore fans, who used to watch the early days of Sting in WCW, tuned in at the mere sight of a man who, as some might claim, is a former shadow in itself. Nevertheless, it speaks fairly big on a company who, on the outskirts, is on the sole mission to compete with WWE in the possible future upcoming months, with houseshows, DVD sales, and things of that nature. As far as Sting in WWE is concerned, considering the above that he helped out a "mini-WWE" (if you will) in his last stint, it is more than likely that he will appear (only) in TNA programmings in the near future (if ever). I personally don't think Sting will be ever back in the WWE, but who knows, he might as well show up on RAW tonight as a new GM for all that matter.
Scott Steiner, Big Poppa Pump, you guessed it absolutely right. Steiner debuted for TNA at their PPV this past Sunday, and will be making more appearances down the road for the same company as well. Once again, the clause "never say never in WWE" comes to mind here, but the possibilities are far from likely from making any appearances whatsoever (for both superstars as described above).
Bret Hart will be inducted in this year's WWE HOF (Hall of Fame) ceremony, as Steve Austin will be the one presenting the honors. Gem of a wrestler, I tell you. It should be noted that the appearance by Hart in the ceremony is unpaid, meaning that he refused to take a payment from Vince, who practically begged Hart to receive the money for his appearance (which would translate into a "work"-type mode between Vince and Bret). Hart will also (more than likely) appear in this year's Wrestlemania, speaking of which, seems like the last of the lasts appearances Hart will ever make for the WWE, let alone for the same man who literally screwed him after Hart provided 14 years of service and sacrifice for one company, gave out his blood and heart each and every night. So, essentially, this year might just be the last year where we will see Bret Hart on WWE Television, but then again, who knew this dream of ours would come true after what happened nine years ago.
Stone Cold was featured on this past edition of Saturday Night's Main Event (beer-drinking match with JBL), and will continue to make appearances in WWE in major events such as Wrestlemania/HOF. Other than that, he also appeared on the first major edition of RAW few months ago when WWE debuted on the USA network (which drew a 4.5 rating, if I am not mistaken). So, all in all, he will be appearing on TV from time to time, at least once a year. Again, it is a "paid-per-appearance", so when his services will be required, we will get a chance to see him.
The latest on Goldberg is he has at least talked to a few TNA officials for a possible appearance (theoratically), but he is asking for way too much money (on par with Sting). Goldberg has criticized WWE very heavily in his recent (and past) interviews, and going along the same path as Steiner and Sting as per mentioned above, it's more than likely we will get to see these three (3) men 'down-south' (aka TNA) and not in WWE (due to their relationships and the handling of media when it comes to WWE and them).
Regarding Ken Shamrock, no update from his side at this point in time.
Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, if I remember (please do correct if I am mistaken), are temporarily out of the TNA roster. No updates on their whereabouts are known at this point.
Bret Hart is my all time favorite. But he wont be coming back as a wrestler, accoring to his official site. It was Goldberg, who accidentally kicked Bret in the head in December ‘99 causing his career ending concussion. After that he fell down from cycle and had a stroke. I wish he could come back, but it doesn’t seem like happening.
Bret Hart even mentions Pakistan in one of his columns:
“I’m touched that they wrote from as far away as Russia, even ** Pakistan ** and I would like to deeply thank everyone who has kept me in their prayers.”
"Hart will also (more than likely) appear in this year's Wrestlemania, speaking of which, seems like the last of the lasts appearances Hart will ever make for the WWE."
The latest update relating to Bret Hart and the possibility of his Wrestlemania appearance is far-fetched -
Bret says that he will NOT be appearing at the WrestleMania 22 PPV event and says he knows Vince and WWE will try to convince him otherwise this weekend.
On being inducted into the Hall of Fame, he noted "I think a lot of it is a sign of good faith, I don't think either of us has ever really forgiven, but Vince and I have made peace to a certain extent."
Hart says he will be flying out of Chicago on Sunday morning, before the PPV.
Hart notes that WWE sent him a contract to appear and that he did not sign it and was not being paid to appear.
Hart also says that if he sees Shawn Michaels at the Hall of Fame ceremony he will walk out, get back into his cab, and head right back to where he came from. "I've basically told them that if I see Shawn, I'll get back in a cab and go straight to the airport. They'll have to get him to do my induction speech. I just feel that there's too much anger for me. Too combustible."
Hart also says that the Hall of Fame ceremony is simply a chance to say goodbye to the fans and give his wrestling career closure.
Don't forget folks (professional wrestling fans), on Saturday, April 1 you can watch the first 2 hours of the 2006 WWE Hall of Fame on WWE.com. The Hall of Fame will air online from 9-11pm ET, then be sure to tune into the USA Network at 11/10pm CT for the final hour of the Hall of Fame Ceremony. The final inductees will be the late great Eddie Guerrero and "The best there was, there best there is, and the best there ever will be" Bret 'The Hitman' Hart, alongwith "Mean" Gene Okerlund who will be inducted by his good friend Hulk Hogan. The latter is not a confirmed at this point in time, however, the two earlier ones mentioned will be the final ones to say their goodbyes.
God, I love Bret. I will be sitting in amazement as the standing ovation from the entire empire of this planet will be showered upon him, similar to what Hogan achieved last year. I was literally shocked to the flesh in my bones for those ten minutes, with my eyes just glued to the television set. All you heard was applause from practically all corners of the arena. Witnessing Bret's final appearance in the WWE............Simply put, a dream come true. A...dream...come...true!
Folks, this is it. This is perhaps your very last chance in possibly your entire lives to witness one of the single greatest miracles that arguably paved the wrestling into what it has shaped to this very day. He has deserved every single accolade that there is to be awarded on this very planet. This man will step foot for possibly the very last time and receive his well-deserved acknowledgement in WWE. It will not get any better than this. For non-wrestling fans and for hardcore watchers, this is once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness a miracle. Bret 'The Hitman' Hart is in Chicago at this very moment, and the time when he will get up on stage, tears will run all over and the roof will blow off the place. Bret Hart will get inducted into the Hall of Fame tonight. You have a chance to not miss this very memorable night, and even a greater prospect of him being on the grandest stage of them all. Be sure to tune into USA Network at 11/10pm CT for the final hour of the Hall of Fame Ceremony. Two of the greatest legends will be brought back into our lives and I guarantee you, the mention of their name on the podium will have you in goosebumps.
I was really surprized to see Bret attending the WWE Hall of fame ceremony. I thought that he wouldnt be attending, after what Vince did to him at the Montreal screw up.
dhobi_bhai, what r ur comments on the ceremony?
Bret himself has stated that if Vince were to offer him a spot in the Hall of Fame even a few days after the screwjob, he would have no problem accepting it, because at that point, too, Hart felt that he has given everything to this business that he could possibly ever in his entire career, and should leave the company with his head held high. I couldn't have agreed more.
Regarding the ceremony, another one of the things that concerned me was as soon as Bret got up on stage, half the arena chanted for him, and the other half chanted "HBK" (even though he left the theater with his wife prior to Bret's induction, with indifferent comments from the fans in the capacity - Half cheered him, half chanted "You Screwed Bret"). I thought that was really unnecessary, and remembering the look on the face he had at that time, it pains me. But, in any case, it was a memorable moment, yes. He did get to say his last words, which took approximately a half hour. It had to be heavily edited for the TV broadcast, but if you like to watch his full-version of the speech, you can pre-order the Wrestlemania 22 DVD via Amazon right now and that will include the entire speech of The Hitman, from start till the end. I thought he should have been given more time on the air, but sadly that was not the case.
All in all, the ceremony was a delight, especially in the earlier stages. I was watching it online for the first two hours, and Sherri was just fabolous. Looked beautiful, acted beautiful, all around, simply beautiful. She just went on and on, and I loved every minute of it. She brought up some of the road trips with Flair and Bischoff (yes, he was in the audience as well) as well as other parts of her life. Guerrero's was the most painful to watch, and I felt Mysterio did a wonderful job through his speech and the choosing of words for Eddie.
Ganja Bhai, did you get a chance to see Wrestlemania 22? If yes, may I ask for your after-thoughts and your experience?
I am extremely excited, and the biggest and the only reason being that, I am going to RAW live brand telecast next week Monday, as well as Smackdown show the night after (Both shows, ringside seats, 4th row). Amidst this craziness and the extravagant passion that I have for the company and professional wrestling in general (it must have been the genes, you think?), I made a couple of signs that I am planning to take to these shows. I have written down at least two dozen poster ideas in Notepad that I would like to get through in the next few days (by Monday), but it would require me to invest large chunks of time. Hopefully, I will try to do the best I can to translate the ideas into the paper and get them to the show.
Ganja Bhai (or anyone else who wish to join), here they are, for your pleasure:
dhobi_bhai: A thing came up and I had to go out of town at that time, so I missed Hall of fame ceremony I only checked the online clips and photos on wwe.com
I didnt watch WM-22, as it was only on PPV. I wonder if they’ll be showing it on USA.
Man, ure lucky ure goin to watch RAW live. U live near WI area?
Regarding the PPV’s shown for free on National Television (and that too, the superbowl of wrestling!?), I personally don’t think there ever will come a time that such thing will occur. Of course, they will keep on repeating the small clips relating to Mysterio’s title win (still shots as well), Cena’s victory, amongst other things, but as far as showing it on USA Network…I think you’d be hard-pressed to force WWE to do that. Maybe Vince will listen to you. He hasn’t to me, so far.
Well, I did buy Wrestlemania online via their website, and their broadcast quality was excellent (500K). In addition to this year’s Wrestlemania, they are also offering a 7-day package to the previous great matches and moments, which includes the matches listed on this webpage. If you would like to watch it, please do let me know, and I will provide you with my password. You have to have a high-speed Internet Connection, otherwise, the quality will deteriorate constantly. This offer is valid for next two (2) days only, so do let me know if you wish to view. And yes, I live near WI area.
I just remembered, and I apologize for this before-hand. WWE have developed an encrypted system where, let’s say that I purchase the package via their website through my computer (at home), then I would only be able to watch it on that computer only, and not on any other machine. The reason being, they establish these built-in security licenses which validates your machine as the sole user of requestor of the broadcast video, and as to eliminate duplicate requests. Of course, I would be happy to give you access, but then it will be blocked from being played on your machine.
dhobi_bhai: My cable operator in Pak used to show all the events after couple of days. So u know I was used to watching it free When I went to Pak last time, I saw DVDs, CDs or VHS of all events avilable right after the event. Not the case in US
I have high speed, too bad I cant see it as u’ve mentioned above
i went with my friends and cousins to baltimore arena to watch the show. It was awesome, me and my cousins went back stage to get his autograph and pictures.
