afaik, muslims are not supposed to do anything on anybody's death ... all you can do is to pray for them to be forgiven.
ps. a counter-question: what are muslims supposed to do on Hadrat Omar's r.a shahadat? Or Hadarat Osman r.a. ? Or any of the Sahaba who died in so many wars?

What do you expect when to some so called great companions of Prophet Mohammad P.B.U.H. the issue of khilafat was so important than the funeral services of Prophet Mohammad P.B.U.H. how do you expect some thier followers to mourn on death of Hazrat Ali A.S. where their so called highly respected sahabas didnt even bother to attend the funeral services of Prophet Mohammad P.B.U.H.

Who went with Prophet Mohammad P.B.U.H. to defend Islam in mubahila
who are these people who didnt have any problem with the first three caliphs and when Maula Ali became Khaleefa they came to war against this leader and hero of Islam... who are these people???? who had problem with his khilafat and came to war against him and are
regarded as Ameer ul Momineen for his acts.....
Who are these people who then came against in the greed for Khilafat again against the son of Maula Ali A.S.... and after they killed him rather than performing his funeral services left his body lying in the hot sand of Kerbala and following sunnah of some companions who left the funeral of Prophet Mohammad P.B.U.H. to resolve the so

Chill..it was just a simple question..why do you guys always make it a Shia Sunni issue? why do people always forget that we are ALL muslims thats it. on the day of judgment Allah is not going to ask who is Shia and who is Sunni. You were not persent at that time. How do you knows its all true ..well maybe it is and maybe it isnt. why waste time arguing about it? life is too short and precious. DONT WASTE IT ARGUING OVER SHIA AND SUNNI CRAP. you really think that Harzart Ali r.a,Hazrat Umar r.a and Harzar Usman r.a would like Shias and Sunnis bashing eachother like this. (is they were here today) learn to get along. Ignorat people before us made these sects. we are all educated and we should not get sucked into it.
