“A Saudi woman cut her husband’s penis off after he decided to have a second wife under Islamic law which allows a man to have four wives at a time, a newspaper reported on Wednesday. His wife begged him not to marry again but he did not listen to her….she then severed his penis with a big knife,” it said. according to pakistani law ... if the husband marries the second time without his wife's approval, she can file an FIR against him. But also ... if the man was to marry the third or even fourth time ... with the first wife not knowing ... then the 2nd and 3rd wife cannot do anything about this .... only the first wife has the right to an FIR. As a result, the husband may have to spend nights in the jail.
but then again, you're talking an arab country ... the men there are probably allowed to do whatever ...
The woman has no defence here. What she did was terrible and she has to be punished for that.

multiple marriages are allowed and men can have upto 4 wives but this statement has lot of other assumptions and conditions if you read it properly then it doesn't allow men to marry 4 times for pleasure or anything and yes it is not stated that he has to get approval from first wife but it is not advisable if his previous wife is against coz it will cause issues and that to be avoided coz technically a man can only re-marry if he is able to satisfy all the needs to both wives and if his act will hurt or damage the first one then it is a debateable thing...
A man can marry 4 women for whatever reason he likes, the only condition is that he must dealy justly between them. He is not forced to marry divorcees, widowed or the disabled, he can marry 4 virgins if he wants, marriage is not an act of charity. He does not need permission from any wife, he is not allowed to keep it a secret thats all. Why are people trying to sugar coat this stuff? It's just as bad in the sex slave thread, God has made certain things halaal, God has put certain conditions on these things, deal with it!
What the women did was wrong, she should of used her God given right to get a divorce, simple.
Exactly, what was wrong in asking for a divorce? I'm sure if a man did something similar to a wife who was having an affair, everyone would be all over his ass trumpeting about domestic abuse.
Sarab is right.. no matter how unpalatable it might be for us to hear it.. The only conditions are like she said he must treat them fairly and equally and actually be able to afford to run those multiple households.. (A lot of scholars say a woman can put a clause in her nikah contract regarding polygyny but others say it's not allowed and if she does it will not be valid..)
Just because something is 'allowed' tho obviously doesn't mean it's the decent thing to do eg. I'd be allowed to hog all my money while husband struggles to pay the bills as Islamically he has no right to my earnings but of course that doesn't necessarily mean that I should..

and a man should be castrated if he does something that is debatable.
