W's military records "accidentally" destroyed

comment: and the dog ate my homework..

lol how convenient.

This is clearly a political issue that has been dragged on and will be dragged on till election day. However, what I am not too sure is what additional political mileage do the Dems expect from this one issue. By snickering and whispering and by late-night comediens and passing references, there is a firm perception amongst the US public that George W Bush used his family influence to skip war duties during Vietnam. Done.

Everyone knows it now and pretty much have factored this particular issue in for their decision on who to vote for in November. What else is new on this?

What was new when Clinton was hounded for months preceding and following his election for dodging Vietnam? Republicans continued to make a huge story out of it, as if he is unfit to be commanader in chief. With Bush it is worse as it was more than just dodging Vietnam, he dodged his Guard duties to work on a family friend's political campaign. If Repubs can dish it out they should be able to take it.

What a shocker.

What were they doing to that microfilm that caused it to deteriorate? It should last 200 years if properly stored.

why is it so easy to digest that they would be able to get away with that? i thought you guys had more faith, and more reason to have faith, in your institutions than this.

well that's too convenient now isn't it..

Ravage, this Bush administration has gotten away with murder so this latest gaff isn't a surprise. For varies reasons justice sometimes takes time to catch up with “evil doer’s.” It's knowing this and faith in the institutions that allows me to digest such.

murder? this im unaware of..atleast within the country.

"He got away worth murder"
It's a figure of speech ravage, take it how you will though as there is no other way.

oh ah. i always thot got away with murder was literal. jack the ripper almost got away with murder for example.

I am not disagreeing with what you are saying about Reps should be able to take this and more... what I am just wondering is how useful it is to drag this thing even more. In my view, most voters have already factored in that George W Bush basically ditched his duty to the nation during Vietnam time and used his family influence to avoid going to the war. The rest is now a cover-up. Unless there are plans to get a grand jury and a special prosecutor to investigate *a la
Kenneth Starr, where exactly is this one issue going to lead?

Just as people were misled about Iraq, they are misled about Bush's unwavering moral values. If Moore Americans would look closer at Bush's first 40 years of life that were wreckless boozing, doping days, playing on daddy's money and reputation, they'd realize he is not the moral superior to other politicians (demos), as repubs pretend. He lied about his Guard duty as he has lied about many many things.

^ yeh but God talks to him... How can God talk to him if he wasn't morally superior to the other politicians..

God talks to anyone who will listen

what military records ? You mean his fling with National Guard? Michael Moore prolly has a copy of his records.
