Wrongly charged MQM workers acquitted

Pakistan Court Acquits Men in Killing of Americans

KARACHI (Reuters) - A Pakistani court on Monday threw out a lower court’s conviction of two men sentenced to death for the killing of four U.S. oilworkers, saying the evidence against them was insufficient, a defense lawyer said.

The two had been found guilty of shooting the Americans and their Pakistani driver in the port city of Karachi in 1997.

But a two-member bench of the Sindh provincial High Court acquitted Ahmed Saeed and Mohammed Saleem, who had been given death sentences by an anti-terrorism court in August 1999, lawyer Azizullah Sheikh told Reuters.

Good thing they found the real killers before these 2 innocent men were hanged. hte killing was most probably done by Islamic millitants that were found only after the recent crackdown on al ansar.

I'm sure the same people killed Hakim Saeed and that too was blammed on MQM by corrupt Karachi police. If the police had gone after the real terrorists before, so many good people maynot have died. It's sad we need FBI to take care of our own police work. We should make FBI officially a part of Pakistan govnt.

Imdad Ali - I agree. The killings were probably orchestrated by indian RAW agents trying to destabilised Pakistan. The probalem with hindus is that they are too scared to start the 'decisive battle'. They are too busy killing Muslims in Gujarat and ripping babies out of MUSLIM women's wombs.

You must be joking me. Who needs Hindus to do anything bad when you have ISI sponsored Lashkars roaming around in Pakistan waiting to kill on command.

Re: Wrongly charged MQM workers acquitted

The main thing is that the judge is right. Why should Pakistanis go to the gallows for killing Amerians andyway? I still believe indian RAW agents were responsible for this as there was evidance that several phone communication link were made to Delhi during the trials.

MQM workers, and innocence, what a joke...

Yes Judge is right that their was no evidence of their involvement yet they were wrongly sentenced to hang. You believe what you want, but recent reports say it was jihadi lashkars.

And why should not Pakistanis or anyone be put to death for murder of Americans?
