Wow! You guys are pretty mean to people.

Poor uncle ji must be on his way to Karachi on the next flight.

You should've at the end told him that you were kidding, or at least you should call back and inform him that it was a joke.

As for myself, I do recieve a few wrong calls every now and then. Usually, they're in Chinese or some other language. So I usually have to ask'em to say it in English and it usually results in them apologizing and hanging up.

That's about it.

Life is very unpredictable and many bad events do take place when you’re least expecting them.

Hence, I wouldn’t totally rule out the idea of believing in a news of such nature. Of course I would try to confirm it through other sources, but nonetheless, I would be worried till I find out what the actual situation is like.
