Recently while writing a report I was criticised for signposting my report too much. The Words used were “you should try writing it as a narrative rather then signposting”. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how I could change my writing style.
I'm a firm believer that everyone has their own writing style. However I do believe that it can be influenced by reading others styles. To me, the best thing to do would be to read books by people with a very different style than yours. Perhaps you can incorporate some of it into your writing. Practise writing in various ways and have others read it, those that can give you the type of feedback you desire. Why would you want to completely ditch the way you write?
