show off your wedding dress before your wedding?

I would show it to family and close friends only, so its a surprise on the day and people dont know what to expect. Plus sometimes people look at an outfit but they cant imagine what its actualy gona look like once its on the bride and may think ooh i didnt like that, but the bride has a clear image in her head of makeup jewlry etc and the final result.

ya, right… only to close friends or to relatives but it should be a surprise for everyone actually… especially for ur hubby …
But i also think that its kinda risky showing to anyone .. cuz it often happens that they kinda spoil the image u have in ur mind , by saying .. naaaah.. it wont look good.. thats not right and this is not right … and that often confuses … i had that problem with my engagement dress… and at the end of the day i ended up thinking that im looking horroable and even created a big drama cuz nothing seemed to look good any more ..

strawberriesncreme, don't show off your stuff before the wedding as others have mentioned above. Another reason why you shouldn't is that a lot of times people end of copying the color you are going to be wearing, and then you have a whole bunch of aunties wearing the same color as you!!!!! Of course the bride is the bride, but it is still quite irritating.

Some poor girls dont get the luxury to choose cause their wedding dress comes from the inlaws who do a full show and tell at the time they bring the jahez thus every one gets to see it even before the girl does!!!
