hey girls!
Would you wear these styles in Pak (Islamabad/Lahore)? I’m talking about for every day going out and about type of wear.

Re: Would you wear this in Pakistan?
Except for the first picture, the rest I already do wear stuff like that here. However in Lahore it's a No. However I do have shalwar kameez or kameez capri which have long jackets like that and I wear the jacket of my kameez capri or shalwar kameez.
Re: Would you wear this in Pakistan?
umm well depends on where in islamabad u go to...
Re: Would you wear this in Pakistan?
No i could never imagine wearing anything like that in pakistan be it isb or lhr..
Re: Would you wear this in Pakistan?
i'm not sure about 'normally' out and about but girls definitely do when they go out in the evening. my first unaccompanied trip to pak was a few years ago in winter and i was staying with a friend in Lahore for a few days (her family home). i had no idea what sort of stuff i should take so took the bare minimum not expecting to even wear my jeans. i felt like such a tramp! those girls really glam up just for dinner out at a restaurant with friends, house parties etc. no desi clothes in sight.
Re: Would you wear this in Pakistan?
I fidn all these outfits pretty wearable. I dont think it should be a prob in Islamabad.
Re: Would you wear this in Pakistan?
Personally, no but stoppit is right. You can see girls wearing similar outfits and not caring two hoots.
Re: Would you wear this in Pakistan?
I find the colour combinations terrible...
Though I've never been to Pakistan I couldn't imagine myself in such clothes there...but yeah I heard from a friend that it's common now for girls to wear western clothing outside.
Re: Would you wear this in Pakistan?
i would never wear them in pakistan, wether its isl or lhr, and whenever iv been to pakistan, i have never seen girls in western clothes anyway.
Re: Would you wear this in Pakistan?
Poster. whatever you want to wear in isb or lhr or in Pak anywher, just remember that there are alot of blasts and killings in the name of Islam. Better go in proper nice modest dress.
Re: Would you wear this in Pakistan?
^ Oh puhlease......nobody gets killed on the street because of the way they are dressed.
I have been to Pakistan repeatedly and never heard of a single instance like that.
Re: Would you wear this in Pakistan?
yea..i do wear that in pak..
Re: Would you wear this in Pakistan?
personally no...i prefer to go totally desi when in pak :) its a refrshing change
but its a matter of personal preference and I dont see anything particularly wrong with wearing this in pak
you never know :halo:
May be I go to Pak more often than you. But well one should be careful.
Re: Would you wear this in Pakistan?
no...never, actually i have never thought about wearing jeans and shirt and stuff in pakistan, because i loove wearing only shalwar kameez and a dupatta there. Jeans and stuff i wear here and its enough...
Re: Would you wear this in Pakistan?
Hevanpal - first pic is from InStyle magazine online. The last 3 are from Gul Ahmed’s winter collection…http://gmag.gulahmed.com/cat/090901/
Tayyebeh - I agree some colors would need to be revised, and the cut on some of the clothes is not spectacular…but I was looking more for the style (jeans, shirt/kurta, boots, coat) than the colors of the outfits ![]()
Re: Would you wear this in Pakistan?
Last time i went to Lahore to visit family..my grandma wouldn't let me leave the house without wearing a long shawl that covered me entirely, beacuse as my cousin pointed out some "ppl" have staring problems and they give you nasty looks...and the funny thing is even with the full shawl wrapped around me I still found ppl starring...so If you were to go out dressed in jeans...I can't imagine what would happen...
But since I dont' live there...maybe that is why I found it weird It was my first time in Pakistan...maybe you girls are so use to it you don't notice?
Is that the case??
Re: Would you wear this in Pakistan?
I often wear western clothes 'back home' if we're in the city, more loose-fitting and casual but that's just me cos I tend to dress down in the day.. I don't think there's anything wrong with the clothing in those pics, I think they look nice..
Re: Would you wear this in Pakistan?
lol the first thing I thought was "that's kinda modern for Pakistan..."
There's such a disconnect between the way desi media in the west portrays Pakistanis in Pakistan, and what actually goes on. I get the impression that wearing sleeveless, capris, even long shorts is acceptable (in khi/lhr/isb anyway...)
