The support culminated during an Oct. 21 fund-raiser for Blanco in Lake Charles sponsored by the Pakistani-American Business Association of Louisiana, which gave Blanco $50,000 for her campaign.
**One attendee said Jindal’s Indian heritage has some Pakistanis worried, given the decades of animosity between India and Pakistan.
“I think it’s a kind of unforeseen fear that if Bobby Jindal gets elected he might push things that are against the Pakistani interest,” said Ashraf Abbasi of Port Arthur, Texas, president of the Pakistani-American Congress, an umbrella organization for Pakistani-American groups.
Blanco spokesman Bob Mann confirmed that she attended the fund-raiser but could not verify how much was collected.
Mann said the subject of Indo-Pakistan relations never surfaced. “What I was told is it was a social function in which people came and mingled and spoke with her.”

The fight for the November 15 gubernatorial election in Louisiana has got keener with the Pakistani American Congress and Patriot Muslim-Americans vigorously campaigning for Democrat Kathleen Babineaux Blanco.
According to a Web site, www.paknews.com , PAC president M Ashraf Abbasi said Jindal “is a highly prejudiced person who could be a future threat for Pakistani interests in the United States”.
The Web site said that the PMA asked its members to vote for Blanco “for a progressive, tolerant and prosperous Louisiana that is free of hate, bigotry, ethnic profiling and discrimination”.
“Support to Blanco means a Louisiana that can offer better and affordable health, better education to everyone. A leader who is capable and has proven records for two terms as lieutenant governor and a leader who has boundless love and passion to shape and revive the economy of Louisiana, to provide jobs to all willing to work, a promise for our youth, and ensure hope and a future for those willing to come back to Louisiana,” it said.
“Kathleen Blanco is a leader having a clear vision for the future of Louisiana and plans to tap its resources and exploit its potentials to the maximum to make Louisiana a great and prosperous state and give its citizens the pride they rightly deserve.”
The PAC (Washington, DC) is an umbrella entity of Pakistani Americans and Pakistani organisations in North America since 1990.
Dear “patriotic Pakistani!”…
The essence of your position is shown in these two posts and later you just opened the bag by talking about the ‘two nation theory’.
You wanted to see first, how many come forward to show support based on views rather than origin of the candidate, and then posted, these to refute all who showed indifference to the origin of the candidate.

By the way, the apprehension among Pakistani voters must have been multifactorial, not just Indian origin of Bobby Jindal.
His so called ‘speech’ was hilariously ridiculous, ridiculously hilarious… and more likely both!
