The reason the Islamic society president gave was that desis of whatever religion generally have similar cultural values and so it is easier to work with a desi than with a gora.

If desis of whatever religion were really so culturally similar then there was no need for Pakistan.
That is why i am strongly against any kind of “south asian” unity between muslims and hindus because it negates the two-nation theory.
