^ These were the same reason why Bhutto was defeated in 1977 elections but wanted to hang on to it by force, and hence army had to come. Yes it was 9 party alliance but still, he was defeated.
And when he was hanged, army did what it did, he was seen as the victim.
Regardless, it shows how popularity has nothing to do with those qualities mentioned above. He did have many good qualities to be a politician, he could move people by his speeches and was well spoken compared to other politicians.
Bhutto party was defeated before in previous election and he still wanted the power which eventually caused East Pakistan to be separated.
In both occasions, he should have not clung to power and could have avoided two big disasters to country.
well its been couple of days and i have seen that i should aks it from a different point.
We all know that in future lets say about 10 years more or less Bilawal and Hamza and other children/relatives of curent useless politicians wil be ready fro leadership. Obviously they will ask for vote and we all know that their dad/uncle/aunt did nothing good to this country neither wil they do because they are not leaders its just a rat race to get into primeminister authority.
Should we vote for this future genertation of useless politicians who are unable to solve our problems.????
There will never by any other option sadly. We dont give any new person a chance. If we did then their kids will be voted in for. The media helps both the PPP and PML-N to stay in power. Lets just hope the rest of the family become sterile!

As I stated before I would not vote for them because they would be no better than their parents. But sadly logic does not take precedence in Pakistani politics. Loyalty to the clan or family does.

Change begins from home. Do we really know who the candidates were in the last elections? All we know is whether to stamp on the 'arrow' or the 'leopard'. We dont even know the names of candidates apart from large 2/3 parties contesting elections in our area. We vote for Bhutto or Sharif or Altaf, not for our 'representatives'. The result: Zardari had the courage to give party ticket for by-elections to Jamshaid Dasti who was only recently humiliated in Supreme Court. I am sure thousands would vote for 'teer' unaware of the person they are trying to elect to parliament.
While we do not make an effort to be politically aware and active, what change we can expect?
The situation is darkened by the fact that politicians know generals would take over soon and make as much profit out of whatever time they have. We don't even protest when the boots come marching in to conquer the country. We, a nation with short-term memory, will elect them all again when the generals have had enough fun for a decade or so.
that is what i am saying. if people say ok we are not voting. what they will do?? what if people (not these politicians) say that we do not accept your win. In free democratic country this can happen. politicians are servents of the country not kings..
