Would you speak up?

Re: Would you speak up?

In this video, 6 were prejucied, 13 defended the lady, and 22 were neutral. Not bad, 67% of the people who took a stand defended the lady.

Compare that to the generic thread re: some minority issues here, and these numbers suddenly look pretty good. Case in point is the "Would you go to an 'alternative' marriage thread"

Hoping this post is not moved.

Re: Would you speak up?

Can’t watch the video as am at work…

But I have done it, in school and at work.

I have stood up to christians and buddhists who made fun of muslims, and I have stood up for a hindu guy at work who was being insulted by his own asst. manager who is a muslim.

The work situation made really disgusted with not jst the manager who insulted his own employee, but also with a few other muslims who were there and thought that guy was right!! It was ridiculous because the mentality that they had was the guy was working in an Arab nation so he should just take the insult and be quiet about it. The poor guy was afraid to defend himself, all the guy did was answer a questions about what was the significance about a thread that was tied around his wrist!!! He did not even open up this discussion!I jst had to cut in coz I could not take it anymore.

I can never stand crap like that, no matter what religion, race, and what a person’s sexual orientation is we should learn to respect each other. No one is just going to hand you respect on a plate..it needs to be earned.

I have had my white friends defend Pakistanis who they have never even seen before, when another white couple insulted a Pakistani cab driver!!
