Would you say karhi is saalan?

I would never think of referring to *karhi *as a kind of saalan. Am I correct? I mean, karhi is karhi.

Re: Would you say karhi is saalan?

i knw karhi is karhi it cant be salan lol... who says dattt??

Re: Would you say karhi is saalan?

I've never actually heard anyone say it, but I was thinking if saalan is any kind of gravy main dish, karhi is all gravy, so maybe it could be classed as saalan.

Re: Would you say karhi is saalan?

call it curry ,salan, gravy, shorba(shora) whatever.bottom line is it should taste good

Re: Would you say karhi is saalan?

Karhi is a curry.

Re: Would you say karhi is saalan?

^yea but curry has pakoray.so what is that supposed to mean?//?

Re: Would you say karhi is saalan?

It means that it’s an extra delicious curry! :yummy:

Re: Would you say karhi is saalan?

But we eat it with chapatti or rice like a salan :p

Re: Would you say karhi is saalan?

nooom nomm nommm..

Re: Would you say karhi is saalan?

yea but pakoras have to be stuffed with all sorts of colourful vegetables and cornflour too :yummy:.

Re: Would you say karhi is saalan?

^^ why cornflour?

Technically it is a salan/curry but I just prefer calling it karhi.

by the way I have seen people making pakoron ka salan...pakoray in shorba type curry.

Re: Would you say karhi is saalan?

The way I see it, you can either call a dish but its name or use the general term of "salan". You can either call bhindi...bhindi......or salan.

You either call karhi by its name or salan. It's eaten as a meal...it has a curry/gravy as do other dishes or "salans."

I think salan is a broad term as is "haandi."

cornflour inflates them and also makes them crispy.it should be around 30 percent of baysen(vaysen)

Re: Would you say karhi is saalan?

In Pakistan karhi (curry) is like something which made of basin and yoghurt.

Salan could of anything like chicken ka salan , matar ghost ka salan etc etc.
