Would you rent...

wedding jewelry, a wedding tux, a wedding outfit?

:hmmm:

Re: Would you rent...

No...too impersonal.

Re: Would you rent...

even though my family can (thank god) afford all these things for me, I would rent jewelry because I would want really lovely jewelry on my wedding but i know wouldnt wear it again so didnt want to spend 1000's on it.

Re: Would you rent...

If I couldn't afford to buy without getting into debt yes I would..

Re: Would you rent...

But of that jewelry has a lot of gold, it would be an investment, no?

Re: Would you rent...

I don't think so. I'd rather have a simpler look than wear what I don't own. If it is a family heirloom, I would be happy to wear it. :@:

I wore my nani's jhoomer on my wedding day (as did all her bahoos and now the other granddaughters).

Re: Would you rent...

in that case.... what u can do is that make a set, big one... like u want... and after shaadi... get it remodel it... one of our family friend's daughter did that... she got herself jodha akbar style set for shaadi day... later... they sold it... and bought 3-4 small size sets out of it....

Re: Would you rent...

Yup! Hubby rented his tux, and I wouldn't have had a problem renting my outfit or jewelry.

Re: Would you rent...

No way,:(

Re: Would you rent...

Will Never Rent it ..

Re: Would you rent...

YES !! all of it was such a waste of money (and time) ! I could rather make many small nice jewellery sets/earrings and formals that I could wear many times later !! My jeweller even offered me to borrow(not even pay the rent) the jhoomer from him for a day atleast since it hardly shows in dupatta setting and it was for 1.5 tolas in weight but i was soo dheet to have my own ! And i never wore it ever again :-/

Re: Would you rent...

ur family jeweller can easily change ur heavy bridal set after ur main function with 2 aor 3 small sets without charging u extra money.

Re: Would you rent…

 I’ll wear very simple stuff… but wont rent..i can look at it years later and smile

Re: Would you rent...

To be honest, If I could rent (at a reasonable price) one of Umar Sayeed's bridals for one night, then I would, YES! the man's bridals now peak at the 12 - 13 lakh range as it is, plus I would probably never wear it again. Same goes for Jewellery...

Re: Would you rent...

Hmm...it depends on what you mean by rent?! I like the idea of 'borrowing' something from a family member (as somebody mentioned borrowing a jhoomar from an elder) since it's quite sentimental and can go on for generations.

With regards to actually renting something, I'm actually in two minds; I wouldn't mind getting something new/ unused for one day only but at the same time, I think it would be nice to have things to look back on in years to come. I wouldn't feel comfortable renting something already used/worn however.

Re: Would you rent...

yes, the tux's are usually rented over here.....and since EVERYTHING else over here is usually for hire, i think i can get away with my jewellery and dress :D

Nopes!!

Re: Would you rent...

I might borrow jewelry but ONLY if its one of a kind and way out of my budget to buy.

My wedding clothes I would like to own...something about the clothes...you dont want to give them back.

Re: Would you rent...

Its a good idea as these days everything is expensive and not everyone can afford the best ...we all girls wish to look best and wear best on our big days....I am ready to rent out my engagement indian sharara..its in blue and peach with kundan work..good to be wear at valima...if any body interested in saving money in this way or cannot afford to buy ..can contact me at [email protected] :)
