After seeing the gorgeousness on www.adorn.com, I’ll say hells yeah! Would you? Would your family or inlaws have objections?
Re: Would you rent your Wedding bling?
my in-laws wouldn't mind at all! i'm wearing gold plated on my wedding.. so renting wouldn't be any problem at all..
my cousin rented a pair of gorgeous earrings from a jeweler she knew in karachi, she had to pay full price when she rented them and when she returned them they kept 10% of what the earrings cost..
Re: Would you rent your Wedding bling?
I wouldn't for my wedding (although that time has already passed!) but I'd consider renting something for another special occassion
Re: Would you rent your Wedding bling?
Nah. i always keep safe everything i wear on my special days :D
Re: Would you rent your Wedding bling?
omg i wud never! if u look at yur pics say 20 yars later and you want to pass on yur jewls to yur family u wont have anything! lol
Re: Would you rent your Wedding bling?
well since its ur big day, I would keep my jewellery, dress and everything since its sooo memorable!
Re: Would you rent your Wedding bling?
What if what you want is really expensive and unaffordable? Most of these pieces are diamonds only and worth quite a bit.
Re: Would you rent your Wedding bling?
Curse those expensive tastes without hte bank balance. :(
Re: Would you rent your Wedding bling?
^srsly, eh?
Re: Would you rent your Wedding bling?
I would never rent for a wedding or anything HUGE event like that because like someone mentioned above, I'd want something I could pass down to my kids. If you cant afford it, wear something you can. I dont like the whole breaking-the-bank thing if you're gonna despair afterwards. As for me, I'll have stuff my mom wore on her wedding, plus they also bought gold bricks. I think that is also a great way to save for your wedding.
But going off topic now. Ahem.
Re: Would you rent your Wedding bling?
I wouldnt mind renting. Its so hard to find exactly what you want! I want to look amazing on the big day and if it means I have to rent something for one day...I'll do it.
Who knows? I might have something similar designed later on. The idea of wearing something from our mothers' or something of our own is so romantic and I would love it. But if I saw something perfect and it was too much for me to buy...hell yeah I'd rent it!
Re: Would you rent your Wedding bling?
Renting is probably a very nice and affordable idea and if it was upto me I would do it for things like a Teeka and jhomer, seriously when am I gonna re-use that anyway? Though, knowing my family I dont think my mother would allow at all. My family is obsessed with gold unfortunalty lol
Re: Would you rent your Wedding bling?
I would never ever rent for my wedding but if its just for a party I could rent for a day or so
Re: Would you rent your Wedding bling?
I think renting for a wedding means you lose sentimental value because you can't then pass down your jewellery to your kids. But then again I don't think I'd get much wear out of a bridal jewellery set- I don't wear a lot of real gold day to day, so it'd just sit in a box somewhere. One thing I've noticed is that there's so much talk about jewellery at weddings- it's a source of gossip for the guests to talk about, this is what her in laws have got her, this is from her parents.... Don't understand the obsession...
Re: Would you rent your Wedding bling?
With this whole idea of passing 'jewellery' to your kids, well you can still do that as long everything from A-Z isn't rental as far as jewellery is concerned (you can just have rental set of bangles or a big necklace etc). Besides, I've never ever heard of brides actually wearing their grandma's, greatgrandma or mother's actuall wedding sets, for sentimental value they usually save an iconic item or two. i.e. family ring to a family kangan or teeka. I wouldn't worry too much about saving every wedding jewels for my kids, hopefully any item belonging to me would be cherished by my childern.
