I have the very common dark-colored eyes (dark dark brown). I wish I had hazel eyes… sigh. I was thinking about getting colored prescription contacts, but my parents and friends are against the idea, so I guess I won’t do it. So, as a female, would you rather have light colored eyes or dark colored eyes (in general, not taking skin color/ hair color in account).

i would rather have perfect eye sight and healthy eyes . I've been a "chishmish" since first grade :( colour is irrelevant for me.
i do admire my husbands yellowish-honeyish coloured eyes though.

Other peoples eye color fascinates me but that doesn't mean I want to change mine. I really want better eyesight but I can see enough..now I think?

I think most people in the world would prefer healthy perfectly functioning eyes over something superficial as color of their choice....but I were able to have both, I would love if I had light eyes. My favorite color for eyes is one I don't see too often..it's a very very light brown, almost gold color, it's absolutely gorgeous.

I would love to have hazel eyes. But mine are a very dark brown (they look black) and I like the shape of my eyes, MA. Dark eyes aren't so bland. Rather I believe that darker eyes look so much more captivating and mesmerizing in eyeshadow and eyeliner compared to lighter colored eyes (like blues eyes, for example).
Last year...one of my colleagues who is rather proud of her ginger-red hair and her very very very light pale blue eyes(icy-blue eyes) told me how she doesn't like dark eyes and doesn't find them exciting. I found it odd that she'd say that to my face since I had the dark hair and dark eyes combination that she's none too fond of....but she is challenged when it comes to tact. I wouldn't say this to her face....as I know better.....but the variety of eye shadow colors and liners that I can wear.........she can't pull em off. Her coloring won't allow for it, lol.

I had a time where I went through this phase of having fascination with blue-icy eyes, BUT I still refuse to wear colored contacts since I prefer clear ones and find colored ones a bit...outdated.
That being said, I really love my eye shape and eye color. Me and my younger brother have chocolatey-brown eyes which look maroon-hazel in the sun and I love my eye shape too. BUT I still go through a stage where I wish I had "colored" eyes but like RV said, there is something mysterious and alluring about dark eyes which a lot of light-colored eyed people mention as well. Plus, there are so many songs about "Brown Eyed Girls". :p

Lol, I LOVE wearing colored lenses! but for the most part I'll wear clear ones..but Ill go through phases where Ill wear my colored ones..this is just one fo those things that I just don't care about peoples 'opinions' about....but for some reason I just love the combination of dark hair, light skin and colored/light eyes.

I like wearing colored contacts but only ones that give a hint of color. I wouldn't wear lenses that totally gray or blue or green...always something natural looking.
I do like colored eyes but not sure if I wish mine were different. Its fun to play around with colors but I wouldn't change them. I like them.

^I read a couple of weeks ago that a doctor/scientest (can't remember) has figured out a way to lighten dark eyes to blue.....using laser. However once you go blue, you can't go back....and there are some risks involved with the procedure. It's amazing how far we've come. I wouldn't do it though...it would feel like losing myself.

I get annoyed with my hair so much...never changing it though. Its what I was given...who I am. I can't let that go.

Me too! I love the contrast between dark hair and light eyes, it's hot. As for colored contacts, I wear my glasses 90% of the time, but for special events I wear my contacts. I don't own clear ones, i've had very bad experiences with them and am scarred for life. I've been searching for more natural looking colored contacts, but I wear contacts to rarely that I can't get myself to buy more until i'm done with the ones I already have.

I heard about that too! I would NEVER do it though, too risky...

Pretty eyes. Color is secondary! You can have the most gorgeous eye color but if the shape/size/clarity is not good, kya faida?!

Agree. It's the shape of your eyes and how it fits into the overall composition of your face. But that's the same case with skin color. You could be lighter skinned or "fair".....but what good is it if you have pimples, beady eyes, and a huge schnoz? Would the fair skin be enough to save you and make you a beauty? I personally don't think so, but some do. I've come across a few people that believe k fair skin hides your flaws better than darker skin. To me...a big nose is a big nose whether it sits on a gori chambri or sanwli one. As for acne...IMO...it stands out even more on lighter skin. I think that when people become obsessed with fair skin.....it warps their thinking.....it impairs their vision to the point that the see even the flaws in a positive light provided they're sitting on fair skin....and no glasses will fix that....that's just a warped mind, imo.
