So I might be in a predicament in a few days. I’m going for the CA designation here in Ontario and I recently wrote the SOA with the results coming out on Friday.
I’m not sure if I want to continue with the CA anymore after the results of the exam come out and if it’s even worth doing so.The exam is flipping hard and I don’t think I want to put myself through the torture again. Therefore the only options I have are to quit the firm I’m working with and look for other avenues in my career or keep working for another year and attempt the exam again and then at which point if I fail I will be fired.
I guess I’m just a little nervous right now with the exam results coming out soon and I just want to know my options and not have that feeling of dumbfoundedness.
Would MBA school be a viable option if I can add a few more years of work experience? Do MBA schools consider the work experience obtained for example in a place such as Dubai with a company such as let’s say Mckinsey?
1- international experience with mckinsey would be very good for an MBA application
2- before you jump out of this and jump into something else make sure what you want to do, getting out of a bad situation and getting into a worse one will not be good.
are you just down because you feel you did not do well in the exam and its tough?
Lets just say if you're with Mckinsey in Dubai, B-school will not even be necessary. I don't know about this years class but in 2006 only 29% exited to MBA School, what does that tell you? Mck's mini-mba and network are as strong as, if not stronger than any MBA School :)
Most people go to B-School to get into top notch firms, so depending on your work experience, you might as well apply for MBA programs.
