Re: would you let
Lol. No one would mind watching anyone elses daughters on the screen but I have severe doubts anyone would like to see their own daughters in Bollywood.
Re: would you let
Why only daughters?
Should not sons be subject to the same standards of decency and hayaa?
and to answer..no for both genders.

Exactly my thoughts..It should be the same for both genders...and my answer is also No for both
Re: would you let
so, you have no problems seeing your daughter on big screen getting touched up, dancing half naked etc (because of good money)
haha damn!
1) Many of the established Bollywood stars don't have a problem with their daughters being actresses. Example: The Kapoors have no issues watching Kareena and Karishma on screen. Anil Kapoor's daughter, Sonam Kapoor, followed his foot steps. Saif Ali Khan has to deal with his sister, Soha Ali Khan, being an actress.
^In the above example, the parents themselves are in the entertainment business...so they are more inclined to be relaxed about their children following the same path.
^And there are also some celebrities whose family backgrounds are not filmi.....and either had the support from their families.....or went against the wishes of their parents....to pursue their tinsel town dreams.
2) Naturally, when it comes to ONE'S OWN child.....one will be MORE protective.
3) But here's a thought that came to mind. It's easier to pose the question, "Would you be okay with seeing your daughter felt up and dancing half naked on screen?"..................................BUT.......................
********If one is so against this.........then they shouldn't be watching "other people's daughters/sisters" get touched up and dancing half naked on screen. Sure, the actresses get paid by the directors, etc. BUT.............those that "watch" their movies..........are in a way supporting it....aren't they? Something to think about. What does that say about the person watching such scenes?
And as mentioned by the above posters.....having haya is not just for women...it includes men as well.
Re: would you let
Touched up??
I wouldn't stop my daughter if that was what she wanted to do (hopefully not the touched up bit tho lol). I'd feel better if she had a family member or someone we could trust to accompany her to auditions etc. to help prevent casting couch type situations..
in that post, i wasn't talking about garbage that goes on behind the scenes. When it said "touched" i meant what you see in movies. I don't watch Bollywood movies, here and there i might see new videos on youtube.. i don't think you can see many movies with your family anymore.

certain kind of people wouldn't mind as long as there is good money to be made :)

to me not everything is man vs woman. okay.
my answer is NO to both.
But mostly likely if you are okay with your daughter(s) going to Bollywood, then i have no doubt, you won't have any problem seeing your son(s) on big screen.

of course Anil kapoor doesn't mind. Doesn't make it right. His daughter could be at a private party dancing half naked right now, he wouldn't care.
seeing and doing are two different things.
i don't know how old you are, but i am pretty sure you have seen porn, now does that mean its okay for you to allow ur kids in porn or enter yourself??
i was just wondering how open minded people have become.
It was only directed towards women, so stick to topic :P
Re: would you let
Sometimes a topic is fitting of a man vs woman debate.
My question, again. Why is modesty/hayaa limited only to women? Why is the question only for women?
Re: would you let

**Umm...are we having comprehension issues here? Where did I say that any of this behavior was "right"??
** seeing and doing are two different things.
**I never said that seeing and doing are the same thing. But don't forget that your eyes, tongue...your body parts will be a witness to all that you did in this world on the Day of Judgment. So, you can be held accountable for "seeing" too. Now, if you see something by accident....that's one thing. If you deliberately chose to see something.......let's say you deliberately chose to watch Anil Kapoor's daughter dancing half naked in a movie....why put all the blame on Sonam?
** i don't know how old you are, but i am pretty sure you have seen porn, now does that mean its okay for you to allow ur kids in porn or enter yourself??
**I don't really care about how old YOU might be....I don't see how age is relevant here. I don't watch porn. I never said that it was "okay" to allow kids to enter in movies....or porn. Then again...it also depends upon the movie..., etc.
** i was just wondering how open minded people have become. It was only directed towards women, so stick to topic :P
I am a woman. But I'm asking a question which I feel is relevant and which has been asked BY OTHER PEOPLE in this thread before me. You're basically saying that it's wrong for these actresses to be doing such scenes in movies and engaging in this bay-hayaa behavior.........and you're wondering how their parents can stand it. WELL.........koi dekhne wala hoga.......tab hi to yeh filmain ban rahi hain. Yeah, it's wrong for women to become porn stars.......................but there is a demand for porn..........people look at it..........that's why it's in business. You seem to be putting all the blame on the actresses and their parents for allowing it..................but what about those people (yani the audience.....which might even include YOU) who may pay to watch the movies and may not fast forward when they see such scenes? Shouldn't actions match words that indicate disapproval?
Wondering the same thing as Sara. Why is this question only directed at women? Are only women supposed to have modesty/hayaa?
What about the directors of the movies? Most of them are male. They don't have to direct such scenes.
What about the fathers of the actresses? Raising a child (daughter or son) is not only a mother's job.
What about the heroes in the movies? Do they have to dance with the half naked heroine and feel her up? No, they don't.
Why are you only limiting haya to females? There are men who have hayaa and those that don't.

Regarding the bit in blue how do u know??
Regarding the bit in red as much as it might bother u 'morally' if u watch it but wouldn't allow ur own daughter to do it that makes u a hypocrite.. Watching bollywood/hollywood or porn urself but having the attitude that 'I would never let my daughter be in a film' is not something to be proud of..

only if i don't let her watch it. just b/c i am watching something, doesn't mean she can do it. c'mon.
i don't know if you have kids or not but will you allow them to do anything you do yourself??
Re: would you let
^Yes, anything I do myself they can do when they're mature enough to handle it. I don't believe in double-standards.

How did porn come into this discussion? It’s a whole other level.
