What’s wrong in doing that Deeba1234? I’m assuming you’re a woman.
What about the part where women let their husbands wear something really normal so no other woman would look at them? Or you never heard of that? 
When a husband asks his wife to do some drastic changes in her style it simply means he’s bored of her current/old look 
So make your man happy and do what he wants or else he knows where to go and get it.
These things are cues I believe in the most honest possible way. He’s mentioning a psychological state where he felt himself having candle light dinner with a fairy having straight golden hairs I love those by the way But in real life he might have seen a girl in certain hair style or dress when he was coming back home or when he was out with friends or when at work and he felt like dancing.
But on serious note he’s talking to you indirectly and unconsciously by not saying the part that he saw a girl wearing something or having a particular hairstyle which he really liked and he wants you to do the same because he liked that or else he’s bored of you.
I’m not married but that’s why I believe guys say stuff like that because you’ve stopped putting effort on yourself for him. Guys are the most visual thing in the world just never forget that. Even though the wife is doing her best for the home and him she has to be sexy, attractive and someone her husband feels the urge to go close to. If he’s not coming near you lately or asking you to change something you should be mature enough to understand where he might be unknowingly going.
Also if you go to Islam and seek the answer there, you’d come to know that whatever your husband desires in you which is not haram in Islam you’re suppose to do that no matter what unless you’re on a dying bed or had broken ribs or something.
