But if she were to become a teacher, how would her ex-porn career effect her teaching young children? She is obviously not going to inspire the kids to become porn stars, so I'm not seeing any rational reasoning as to why we would oppose her.
what makes you say that? Did she give out statements against her past? Did she say she regrets her past? etc.

Why would you think it would be appropriate to talk about her THAT past with children? In my mind if a teacher had a dirty past, but now has moved past it, he/she should be given a chance.

I know what you're saying. But for me religion is not involved in this situation, so it makes no difference for me if she thinks of herself as a sinner. However, if she's trying to make a career outside of a porn industry, and trying to hide her past, I think a person like that would deserve another chance.
Like Hareem said before, we all have choices. And every parent has the right to choose the best for their children. But what 'best' is, is different for everyone. I think over all it's better for society if she's given a chance, rather than shunned out.

Lets take the '/sin' part out, you used the words 'had dirty past', so that means you also consider her past as 'dirty' and now taking this career you believe she is 'hiding her past'. I am okay with 2nd chance as long as she really considers her past as 'dirty' and does not defend it as 'nothing wrong with that' type.

Any father who has never watched porn in his life is morally entitled to object to her being a teacher. As for those who have watched porn, the lady is morally entitled to decide if the kids of said fathers deserve to be taught by her.

I seriously would not want her teaching young children. If some kid out of curiosity asked her what she was doing before she became a teacher, it would lead to unnecessary consequences. Recently when a porn star joined Big Boss, many kids started searching for her details and actually became addicted to porn.
Kids do respect their teachers a lot and it is a very impressionable age. I would not want an ex-porn star near my kids...
That said, I really agree that people are given a second chance. She could teach college goers if she has any knowledge on any subject apart from the one that she is good at.
During our engineering days we had a lecturer who was an absolute drunk/per*. But he was a brilliant teacher. All his lectures ran full. Some of his lectures still ring in my ears even now. We had the maturity to differentiate the person and his behaviour.

Bit of an exaggeration don't you think? Don't underestimate the mentality of kids nowadays, not all of them are as innocent as we would like them to be.
