I was contemplating that too. I decided against it, at least for right now. I just hate the idea of getting into a 4 year contract. What if I don’t like? What if better opportunities come along while I’m still under contract? And then they can stop loss you. Call you back.

Stop loss became popular after the 2000 bubble burst. The meltdown after 2007 further added to its legend status.

No.
I love Canada & India and always will. But I don’t support war, nothing good has ever come from it.
As a doctor, I would give my services to those in need and help only in that way.
So would you like to be deployed on a foreign soil behind enemy lines treating soldiers or would you rather stay home and give back to community?

I would help people affected by the war - the innocent children, women, etc - I wouldn’t mind going to foreign soil. Doctors without Borders is a great cause in my opinion. I am iffy about treating soldiers - because some use tactics that I am not supportive of. I would rather stay back and help those here and if needed I would go help innocents affected by war. As a doctor though you can’t pick or choose you who want to help, so wherever my services would be more needed I would go.

I am not programmed to fight wars. Have seen a lot of war movies (have read Tolstoy’s War and Peace too) but I’m not sure it’s enough to handle the real thing.

Most of the time you won’t have a choice. When war comes knocking on your door its usually too late. I think one should defend their homeland from foreign invasion and the cruelties that come with it. It is a duty and worth the sacrifice because most people fight for their families before the homeland not that the two a distinctly distinguishable.
As many have said I trust in the armed forces of my country. And don’t think any foreign power could successfully invade the Isles.

Don’t care about some war where there are interests/agendas of each party of that war. There is always money business in war.
