now this is the problem,
I have some rather high expenditures
and I m thinking of making some fast cash.
some companies here are looking for peeple of different ages, to do some tests on. With pills and stuff, just to check what kinda effects/side effects they can have on humans , and apparently yessss there are some risks
And they r willing to pay verry good for it
SOoooooooooooooo I was wondering, would anny of you consider of doind this, please feel free to say why or why not?
plus remember ur health and ur body is an AMANAT from Allah and u'll be answerable abt how u took care of it :-)
i dont want to impose on u but i seriously think this is not a good idea n hope u wil not go thru with it, if i were u i would explore alternative venues for income or cut down on my expenditures
I wouldn't do it. Having said that, I do appreciate people who put themselves through this. If it wasn't for their sacrifice and braveness no new medicines would be developed.
Check where legal liability lies.... you may be able to sue them for a huge wad of cash should anything go wrong :D
Seriously though, generally by the time a drug has reached the clinical trial stage it has been intensively and rigorously tested on animals to ensure that it is not fatally harmful to mammals. A regulatory body in fact has to certify it as safe for use on humans before any kind of clinical trial can take place.
What they normally look for in clinical trial is side effects rather than anything too dangerous.
And people who take part in clinical trials, as funguy said, make a huge contribution to humanity through making new treatments possible by demonstrating how safe they are.
Still... I personall wouldn't go through testing. I'd rather leave being human guinea pigs to those who are economically more disadvantaged than me.
Maddie, ur making some crude errors in the terminology ur using:

what dp is going to take part in is FAR from what is considered to be a clinical trial. This research is the so-called phase 1 on drug development. the trial comes later on in the porcess

any unwanted effect of a drug is considered as side effect.......even the dangerous ones. The experimenters are looking for all side effects...even the dangerous ones (the reason why they do it in healthy ppl is that they will probably suffer less from these side effects than unhealthy ppl), although the chance of having a serious side effect is low, cuz of the previous processing of the drug

Generally the ppl in a clinical trial don't show how safe they are but how well they work. The side effects are dispersed over actually all phases of development
NO! dont ever let anyone experiment on u with untested medication, the shame is they do that in all the third world countries, and so many ppl contract diseases
not for all the money in the world, be happy u r the way u r

well, there is something to say about this:
if u know that those ppl in Africa can't be offered any better medicine, then i think it cud be ethically justified to give them these drugs as a last resort. And why not give them these drugs and also study the effect of them?
