Re: Would you divorce your wife if you mom told you to?
If my mom asks, I will happily leave my 2nd, 3rd and 4rth one .. but never the first one.

Re: Would you divorce your wife if you mom told you to?
:D ... in fact I was saying what Huma asked. Cause the number one is so special, not that there is any need for 2,3 or 4 but also I cannot leave her no matter who asks for it.
boys will be boys!

Men who would do such a thing are so disgusting. I don't expect my parents to be interfering in my married life, so I don't expect his either.
Just one more reason why I am so anti-joint family or living with inlaws..

Well, if it is a joint family or a close-by family of in-laws, there are so many great benefits of those. Wait and see.
Don't be so critical of skewed or biased views of others.

The situation has nothing to do with joint family system. It could happen even if you are living in USA and in laws in Pakistan

We all have our views, and I have mine. I don't care if some people like being in joint family, I just mentioned that I am against it and find it extremely unbearable. It's something I would never do.
I like having my own privacy and freedom and I don't want to share the house with inlaws at all.

Well in the other thread, it was mentioned that the mother inlaw said she couldn't live with her son's wife.
this thread remind me my cousin...her husband divorse her, just because his mom told her to do it...
the reason...right after 1 week of wedding, cousin and her MIL didnt get well alone...MIL would always say bad about my cousin on the phone to her releatives ...plus she would always say...tumhe khana banana nahi ata.....tameez nahi hai..maa baap kuch sikhaya nahi..etc and then cousin would not tolerate so she wold answer back...MIL would always complain to son and one day ask him to divorse her and he did it.....
now he got married again but i heard from his friend who is my best friend's husband that he always say that he regret givining divorce and he miss his ex wife and daughter alot ..when he gave her divorce, she was 2 months pregnant that time

This is why it's so important to discuss these things prior to marriage. If a girl want sto live seperately, she should make it obvious prior to marriage so that her husband and inlaws can decide whether that girl is eligible to marry their son or not.
