I would never do that - its cruel to be with sum1 - shows them love and commitment and then reject them - all the while knowing you never really intended to be with them.

Nope. I wouldn't even date a person I haven't married (and I'm married to at the time of the date).

regardless of religion or culture, if one believes in marriage in the first place, i think only immature people embark on relationships like this. whether that's because of age (young, carefree and just want to have some fun) or an immature mindset (i.e. ready to marry but choosing to date someone who it is highly unlikely to go anywhere with but convincing themselves that it will).

since my mid twenties, i've seen that most girls i know, regardless of cultural background are either in or looking for long term relationships that will lead to marriage. i found it quite interesting to observe that a lot of my white classmates from school were married by their mid-twenties too - did not expect that when we were at school.

I am in the same situation now a days but i just hope my ami would change her mind someday or may be not :(
