being married as success?
How about career/job? Would you consider it your worth?

Re: Would you consider
If getting married is part of you goals of life, then yes .. achieving that goal would be considered a success ..
But that would be just one part of your life. Career, finacial, spritual, health ... these will be other areas where one should have goals.
Another point, gatting married and having a successful marriage are not the same, I am sure that you know that
Re: Would you consider
Well said by TLK. I second that having happy married life is considered a success. Just being married doesn't neccessarily mean success.
Re: Would you consider
Being married will be considered success , just in one case , if you got married to one you loved and wanted to get married to.
Other than that I second TLK and Jadugar's opinions.
Re: Would you consider
I am talking about just being married, not referring to success or failure of marriage. Would you look at someone and say "oh that person is not married, must be a loser"?

Ahhhh .. now you are talking ..
Its depends why that person is not married ..
if he/she is not married because of his own nature or character that had obvious flaw that no one was ready to marry him/her then I would consider calling that person a loser.
but if its because of circumstances, then no. I would feel bad for that person but will never consider him a loser.
On a smiliar note, if a person had all the means and ooprtunities to get married, but decided otherwise, I would consider that person a failure, in that aspect of life.
Re: Would you consider
I think success is when you achieve something you aimed or hoped for - it is usually something that was not easy to gain...
Re: Would you consider
i thought the married ppl were the losers
i mean thats like halfway to uncle n auntyland
Re: Would you consider
I disagree with the above notion. While agreeing to it, we will be assuming all married people loosers including your parents.
Re: Would you consider
Getting married is half the meaning of being muslim, so yes i think that people who are married have reached one success
Re: Would you consider
Oh no. Comeon. Let me tell you i have seen more losers who are married.
I’d rather single ones are better. Their brains aint that much eaten up. ![]()
Re: Would you consider
I consider a failure to be a success in my life.
Re: Would you consider
im a career woman...well i'd like to think i am.....
ryt now iv jus started building it up, i need wot...another 4-5 yrs to achieve my goals in my career....however as a muslim and now that i am married.....i kind of have think through 'starting a family' perspective.....
to me, career is important to me coz i dont...or shud i say i 'cant' depend on anyone for financial security......i dont like to ask, and while asking dont like to give a million reasons for it......
but i know once kids come in the equation...i'd like to feel comfortable enuf to leave my career for good few years and look after my kids inshallah, then once there in schools i can carry on with my career wher i left off.....:)
Re: Would you consider
considering how hard it has become to find trusting, loving, caring husbands/families..yes it definitely is... :)
Re: Would you consider
And why would you consider that person a failure if he/she decided not to marry despite having all the means and opportunities to get married?

Re: Would you consider

To me, if you have the opportunity and means and reasons to avail that and you let it go, it does reflect certain degree of failure (only in that aspect of life).
I get astonished by the people who think that marriage is not important part of life and they should not work towards getting married.
Its a sunnat and a very safe way of taking care of your physical needs, if not anything .... but that is another topic :)

Re: Would you consider
